I make this all the time now. I have giving this in a mason jar to sick friends. I add a little broccoli to it and the last time I made it I cut fresh corn off a cob and added it . It was excellent. I love Your recipes Paula, they are usually easy to make and delicious. Keep them coming.

I love this because I can make it, go off with the kids and dinner is almost ready when I am home. I added a couple stalks of celery and some garlic. I brought to a low boil about 20 min before serving and threw in some broken up spaghetti noodles- served with bread and a green salad. great- thanks!

Simple, quick, and healthy!! I modified it a pinch by cutting the amount of chicken in half and doubling the veggies! I threw in every veggie I had on hand! I also jazzed it up by cooking a few strips of bacon in the pot before adding the oil or veggies and left the drippings. I do this for most soups since it gives a lot of flavor (of course!!. Home run Paula!!

We have been enjoying this very special soup three ways: Italian Chicken, Italian Beef, making it with lean 3/4 " chuck steak, and Italian Meatball, made with ground beef and pork meatballs. I love to cook and we, my husband and I, enjoy watching your shows whether, with you alone or those featuring your precious Michael, your adorable sons, Jamie and Bobbie, and your sweet brother , Bubba. We love to see beautiful Brooke and grandson, Jack. Jamie and Bobbie are coming to Altoona, PA, May 3rd, only 38 miles away from Johnstown, where we live. We tried for tickets, but they are sold out. I am able to record all your shows, in case I am not home, I don't want to miss any one. I got Christmas WITH Paula Deen from My son, Jeffrey, who also enjoys you and your recipes. He has bee making Lemon Blossoms, YUM ! Back to the Recipe: I add McCormick's Celery Salt. diceed celery, parslay chopped finely, and s small amount of Mini Farfalle {Bow Ties}. Sincerelty, Joan DeLisa

The smell is devine for this soup and we do really like it minus the dry no taste chicken pieces. I added northern beans to it and everything is great otherwise. I will most likely make it again minus the chicken and maybe add some pasta.

Soup doesn't get any better than this! Hearty, healthy, flavorful and filling. I liked the suggestions from "Perfect Warm-up" (1/2/08 of adding white beans - which are a very healthy addition to one's diet. Also, chopped baby spinach and orzo are delicious possibilities tho' I wouldn't add pasta or potatoes if I were adding the beans. I freezse single serving portions for my husband's late night supper/snacks. (He teaches at the college and doesn't get home until 9 or 10. They're easy to deforst and microwave and sure beats putting a slice of cake in your tummy just before bed.

This soup was beyond good! I added one small yellow squash and extra chicken broth to make it more soupy. I then added some Pastina pasta. It was so healthy and refreshing, I got my whole family hooked on it. I make it all the time.
