This is a five star rating because we cannot give it a five and a half! Very delightful in flavor and a wonderful use of ordinary ingredients. Rich and filling but at the same time satisfying. We used Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon in place of the brandy. It was an excellent substitute.

Sooo good! Easy to make and tastes amazing! Couldn't find green peppercorns separately so just used a pepper grinder blend and it was delicious.

I surprised my husband this evening with this recipe. We both absolutely loved it! The flavor that the sauce takes on with the bacon and mushrooms is out-of-this-world! I am going to make this again next week for company. My husband works nights in the ER of a nearby hospital. He usually wants me to make him a PBJ sandwich to take with him as it is easier to eat between patients. Tonight he asked me to put one of the left-over potatoes in his lunch...he is gonna make everyone at work jealous!! Thanks Paula for another wonderful recipe.

This is a DELICIOUS topping to otherwise boring baked potatoes. Could not find green peppercorns so replaced with peppered bacon and aded green onions when serving...oh so delicious!!!!!

This is really good. The only thing we do differently is to add chopped onion-a little in the sauce and a little raw on top to give it some crunch. Might try adding some garlic next time too, but it's pretty good as is.

I have made this before, and did not use bacon I added shallots. Corn starch is not necessary, just reduce the cream sauce to desired consistency.

Tried this tonight and it was really good. I think I'll make a double batch of the sauce to put over some chicken.. Thanks Paula!
