The taste was good. I don't know that mine turned out right. I thought they were suppose to be alittle crisp and mine were like pancakes.

I as a fellow southerner for 5 generations and a lover of okra was very disappointed in the dish. It was way too heavy a lacked any real flavor.

I grow okra, but I don't get very many, so my mother shared this recipe with me. We LOVE Paula - she's real and she makes awesome food! These hoe cakes are great!

I loved this recipe !!! Super easy and delicious !!! My mother-in-law who loves okra and never knows what to do with it couldn't stop eating them. The only changes I made were that I used a little more onions (sauted them a little first and (it didn't specify in the directions, but I boiled the frozen okra before adding it. As someone mentioned, you do need a lot of butter (as clarifying it dissolves a lot of the butter but it was so good I wouldn't try anything else. Thanks Paula !

My husband loves okra and he liked these a lot, but I fried them in Canola Oil..what's up with the attraction to all that BUTTER?
I'm not an okra fan, so I have to go with his rating...three stars...tastes good, quick and easy.

i made these for my boyfriend who is an okra skeptic because they're always so slimey!!! I LOVE vegetables, fried, fresh, steamed, whatever!! for being a hefty girl you wouldn't know I'm a veggie fanatic.

these were gone in under 10 minutes!!! haha everyone loved them including the skeptic! thank you so much paula for letting me turn my bf's taste table!

My family and I love this recipe. My husband has only ever had okra scrambled fried, so I was unsure of his response....he loved Kaye's Fried Okra Bread. My mother-in-law did too!
    Thank you Paula

I made this for my grandson who likes okra as much as i do. It has become a family favorite. We are all saddened when the season for fresh okra ends.
