Im a huge cook, and i use your recipes frequently. I must say this dish is so tasty, i have had Pot Pie but this is better than ever. The flavor really makes the dish it's not boring at all. It's so easy to make. Anyone is a beginner in the kitchen, this is a perfect starter recipe. I fancy myself a pretty good cook and I have no clue what is WRONG with this recipe. At first, I thought most of the reviewers were morons and didn't know the difference in chicken base and boullion. And, well, a few probably are, but now I am no longer think that all of them are. This was bland but salty (impressive!. I think it has waaaaaay too much chicken base in the recipe or something. All in all, I love you, Paula, but this is NOT the Lady and Son's recipe.

My family loves this but I use low sodium chicken base. I get mine from Costco Better than Boullion brand organic and cheap $7. I too add 2 diced potatoes and saute them for just a few minutes with veggies to soften. I am also admittedly lazy and use a premade pie crust instead of puff pastry. I freeze leftover filling and use a few weeks later. This is a great base recipe and with your own tweaks can become a family favorite of yours. Thanks again Paula.

I love Paula Dean, but this recipe did not turn out as I'd hoped. It was so bland! I followed the recipe exactly as written, but the end result was no good. I was so disappointed and it was a complete waste of ingredients. Still love ya, though, Paula!
