Had a wonderful dinner with my parents. Chili was on the menu but talked Mom into lettimg me try this pot pie instead. I saw Paula on the Jane Pauley show and decided to try her up-to-date version. Very tasty but next time I'm going to try to cut down on the fat content. Otherwise, the recipe was great!!! Didn't realize a pot pie could be so simple!

I loved the presentation. But..... after preparing it, I read the label on the chicken base, and 1 Tablespoon equals 1 can of chicken stock or 1 buillion cube, so.... a 1/4 cup was way too salty. I will make this again but go easy on the base.

So simple and a family pleaser. I made it for my sister's family (and they're so picky, they don't like anything and they ate it up!

easy, freezes beautifully, and delicious! you can cut the fat by using milk, 1/2 and 1/2 if you want and it is still terrific!

This is a wonderful presentationof an old favorite. Kudos, Paula on the puff pastry top0per.
I too questioned the 1/4 cup of chicken base so I went easy on that. Could this be a typo? We should have somewhere we can write to check on recipes we question.
I will make this again and again and again...

I loved the creative idea of the Puff pastry, but 1/4 cup of chicken base made it way too salty. The next time I made it I used one teaspoon and I didn't need to use anymore because I used flavorful bits from the bottom of the pan the chicken was seared in. Also one quart of heavy cream overpowered the chicken and vegis so I used a 1/2. The second time I made this dish it turned out fabulous. Thank You.

This is easy and fun to make. It is rich, but not too rich! Very good!
Try it!
