I made this for a dinner party and it was excellent. The Basil Cream Sauce really makes the dish. I cut my bacon in half lengthwise and pre cooked it a little so no problem with rubbery bacon. I read one of the other reviews that stated that Paula had brushed the shrimp before baking with a butter/olive oil/ paprika mixture so I did also and it gave them a little nicer color.

Great tasting appetizer or dinner. Prep time is well worth it as friends and family love it when I make these.

What else can I say but "AMAZING". I prepared this for my husband, he loved it. Very rich a little goes a long way. I purchased a jar pesto to save some time.

I used super large shrimp and pre cooked the bacon slightly to reduce the fat level. I also use round tooth picks inserted in each stuffed shrimp to hold it all together. A minute under a high broiler is helpful if using thick sliced bacon.

I made this for my husband and myself when the kids were gone and it was delicious. A bit of work, but definetly worth it.

I'm considered a pretty good cook. But this was not good. I splurged to make this recipe because it had such a high rating. Jumbo shrimp and crab are expensive. I went right by the recipe. It just didn't have a good flavor in the crab stuffing, the shrimp were bland, and the basil cream sauce was not good. My husband told me not to make it again.

This recipe is amazingly delicious!! It is time consuming although very worth it!! I served the shrimps alongside a simple salad and it made a perfect meal.

If you're looking to impress some guest or just your family, this is the recipe for you. It's really very simple to make, but there is quite a bit more prep than I thought there would be. Of course, you can always do some before hand. Also, it is sooo worth it to make the sauce and tastes great with a side of rice or vegetables. One suggestion is to use thin bacon strips and good quality because you don't want to bite into a fatty flabby peice.

I use fresh garlic instead of powdered in the crab salad (sauteing it along with the other veg, and par-cook the bacon before wrapping it around the shrimp-- it crisps up a bit more and isn't as "flabby" that way.
