PERFECT. I made them as stated except I used Italian bread crumbs. I love Italian. I made some with bacon and some without. They weren't too bready. The bacon was fully cooked....the mac and cheese was awesome. Everyone in my family raved about them. My inlaws are visiting and they loved them too. It was wonderful. Thank you Paula Deen for a wonderful recipe. It is OK to eat something a little unhealthy once in awhile. No it's not something to eat every single day but you need to enjoy life and splurge now and then.

As far as the macaroni and cheese recipe. It tastes pretty good. I was worried about adding the egg to it but it didn't make it taste funny. It still tasted like mac and cheese. As for the second part of the recipe (which I just tried after making the macaroni yesterday and refrigerating the part we didn't eat, it did not live up well. Maybe I added too many bread crumbs but it tasted like I wrapped it in bacon and then a piece of toast! I can't believe I'm saying this...Trust me on this one: Baked over Fried (in this case wins.

It wasn't bad...it just wasnt good either. Bland. Next time, would undercook the mac a bit before baking it. It turned out a bit too mushy. Would also add some salt. The deep fried part was bit thick, not sure what do about that part.

do you cook the Lady's cheese mac the night before before you refrigerate it or do you just put together and refrigerate then fry the next day? Please advise as soon as possible- cooking for Christmas day!!! Sounds great and I needed a new mac recipe after all these years of preparing my other one. I have not made yet so just rated it on what my husband and I thought when we read the recipe. Please email me the answer. thank you

of course it's not healthy- but it's sooo good! I don't like bacon so we made it without and it was still really flavorful, even my picky kids ate it.

Delicious....To Ms. Colleen, you choose WHAT you want to Make and Eat. You choose HOW much butter you want to put in your food. If you are not aware, your food can still come out just as good by limiting your ingredients just the way you want. Remember, this is her recipe, you can modify!
