i had 50 Lemons from my back yard. Didn't know what I was going to do with all them, now I do. This recipe is wonderful and easy to make. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Great lemonade. Just the right balance of tart and sweet. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Simplest way to put this is oh my god I wish I had this when I was little. Oh and my dad was all out of beer once so I put some vodka in a glass of this and he loved it. item not reviewed by moderator and published
The kids love this. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Time for Lemonade!!! I am so excited to make some fresh lemonade. I have never had it. Should be good. I have followed other Paula recipes and they turned out great. item not reviewed by moderator and published
If you have a finite 1 gallon container and add, 1 gallon of water, plus 2 cups of sugar, plus 1 cup of water, plus 2 cups of lemon juice... see the problem? I'm not sure how they measure things in the south, but in the rest of the country we call that "over flow". Plus, can you imagine a lemon simple syrup poured into a gallon of water, WEAK! More like lemon water. item not reviewed by moderator and published
just right not to much lemon juice and not to much sugar every thing is great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! item not reviewed by moderator and published
I had leftover fresh squeezed lemon juice and wondered what to do with it. Made this Lemonade and it's perfect. Not too sweet and just the right lemon flavor. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Best. Lemonade. Ever. Just note that the ingredients call for a gallon of water, but the recipe says to combine two cups of lemon juice with water to RENDER 1 gallon of water, which turned out tasty! item not reviewed by moderator and published
good lemenade the summer time drink of them all for kids and adults like me item not reviewed by moderator and published
We made this lemonade for a summer party and added 1/2 cup slightly crushed raspberries. It was a big hit !! Very good !! item not reviewed by moderator and published
I don't have lemonade much because it is often too sweet, too sour, or just too watered down. This is absolutely perfect. Not too sweet, not too lemony, light but flavorful. Also it was extremely easy to make. I only needed 8 lemons to get 2 cups of juice, as they were pretty large, plus one more for slicing up. My boyfriend liked it as well so this recipe is going to be a keeper! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Delicious! For a sweet twist, use Pure Maple Syrup instead of white sugar. Pure Maple is a low glycemic index food, packed with anti-oxidants and minerals (a serving of maple syrup has more potassium than a banana, and tastes great - like the hills of Vermont where it was born. Buy it at your local grocery store or online at Slopeside Syrup. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Perfect! So refreshing, not too sweet, not too tart. item not reviewed by moderator and published
This is delicious lemonade, reminiscent of childhood. I will definitely make this again! thank you, Paula Deen! item not reviewed by moderator and published
This is the perfect lemonade! Thanks for sharing! Its a keeper! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Made this exactly to recipe. This was pretty good...but a bit weak on the lemon taste. Too much sugar? Too little lemons? Next time, I will cut back on the sugar and add 1/2 cup more of fresh lemons. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I'm a lemonade snob. It has to be perfect, and this is an absolutely perfect blend of sweetness and sour. item not reviewed by moderator and published
This is the best lemonade I've ever had! item not reviewed by moderator and published
I have always struggled to make fresh lemonade. After spending all the time squeezing the lemons I was always disappointed with how it came out. THIS RECIPE IS PERFECT!! I made it exactly according to the recipe, and it came great. My new "go to" summer drink. Add a shot of sweet tea flavored vodka and you'll be in heaven! item not reviewed by moderator and published
I loved this receipe. Very easy, that's the key word. I used lemons off my lemon tree. I also used Steiva to sweeten it with and it was delcious. item not reviewed by moderator and published
My first homemade lemonade, quite good. I used Meyer lemons, squeezed them and all that. I did nix the sugar and went with Splenda instead, I used the same amount, since the bag showed a 1:1 ratio. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I always make lemonade but it is either too sweet or too sour! But this was just perfect! Absolutely perfect! item not reviewed by moderator and published
This was really simple and good. item not reviewed by moderator and published
This recipe is so easy and gets great reviews from young and old. Highly recommend! item not reviewed by moderator and published
as all of the other things I have tried from paula's recipes and cookbooks...AWSOME.... item not reviewed by moderator and published
My kids called this the "perfect" lemonade. I've made this for my son's birthday party today and I expect none will be left. They've asked that I make this from now on instead of instant! Of course it depends on your lemons as well...how tart they are so you may need to adjust sugar or water. This is going in my recipe box! item not reviewed by moderator and published
OMG! item not reviewed by moderator and published
LOVE IT! I had my honey try it and as picky as he is he loved it. So if he approves i kno its delicious!! Thank you paula for the best lemonade recipe!! item not reviewed by moderator and published
I love this recipe. Make sure you don't add a whole gallon of water. The recipe states to add enough cold water to MAKE a gallon, meaning total volume. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Way too watered down- had to almost double the lemons. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Followed the recipe except I substituted regular white sugar with cane sugar. I also added one lime (may play with lemon/lime ratio the next time I make it. I adjusted the lemon juice/water combination until I reached the desired flavor. Add Belvedere vodka for a refreshing summer party beverage! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Too watery & too sweet, not enough lemon flavor. I happened to only have 1 cup of sugar, so I was going to make half a recipe and the second half after I picked up more sugar. Well, I combined 64 ounces of cold water & 1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice with 1 cup sugar dissolved in hot water and thought it was really sugary and not very lemony. I kept adding more lemon juice, until I'd used up the full 2 cups. This was a little on the bitter side, so I dissolved 2 more tablespoons of sugar and added that in. I think this lemonade is perfect now--vibrant lemon flavor and not too sweet! item not reviewed by moderator and published
YUM!!!! I used Meyer lemons, and i boiled a simple syrup first on the stove, then added my lemon juice and 2 QUARTS WATER (not a gallon. That way people can ice it to their liking : It is delicious!! item not reviewed by moderator and published
So easy! So summery! It made me feel southern, and I'm from Chicago! item not reviewed by moderator and published
This has become my husband's favorite lemonade recipe, and I have been making this particular Paula Dean [lemonade] recipe for several years. I also use this recipe to make limeade for a change from lemons. If serving to guests, I often include orange slices, along with the lemon or lime slices for its presentation of citrus colors. Recently, our 9 year old grandson asked me for this recipe so he could make his own pitcher of lemonade, with some help from his mom! It's always a big summertime hit! item not reviewed by moderator and published
I have been making this recipe for years. It is always a hit. Made it for Memorial Day Weekend get together and it was gone before meal was over. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I didn't add the whole gallon of water...but we did add a small amount of frozen strawberries and the juice..this is a keeper!!! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Good, but too watered down with 1 gallon of water (which is why 4 stars instead of 5. We reduced water to 2 Qts (by half in order to taste the lemon and sweetness to my family's liking. Definitely make the simple syrup over stove, cool then add - makes a big difference in the mouth feel. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Yumm! We made this yesterday after a hot day of gardening, it is so refreshing and perfect. Made the simple syrup first and poured it into the jug along with the lemon juice, water and a few ice cubes. Reminds me of the lemonade my mom used to make for us as a child. Love you Paula! : item not reviewed by moderator and published
My family, including my 5 year old daughter, loved this recipe. I made it a little sweeter after tasting it was a little more tart than my liking. I just mixed up a little more syrup (sugar and water and mixed it in. YUMMY! A great summer/spring recipe for Lemonade. Will save and use again. Thanks! item not reviewed by moderator and published
This was a easy and delicious lemonade. For a refreshing cocktail try it with some Firefly sweet tea vodka...A spiked Arnold Palmer!! Wonderful! item not reviewed by moderator and published
I used Meyer lemons (from a friends tree that are sweet and floral tasting. This recipe is so easy, and you can easily modify the recipe to suit your sweet tooth! I had some strawberries that needed to be used soon, so I put about 8 berries with a bit more sugar and a few tablespoonfuls of water, in the food processor, put it through the sieve right into the prepared lemonade. Tastes like a bit of summer on a rainy day: item not reviewed by moderator and published
Nice start - a little too watered down to suit my taste. Dissolveing the sugar in hot water is a wonderful touch. I used very ripe fresh lemons, so they were about as sweet as lemons come. Another cup of lemon juice did the trick. Maybe really sour lemons would give enough flavor to this recipe as written. Bottom line, taste as you add water to get the flavor you prefer. item not reviewed by moderator and published
The best lemonade I've had. I received some fresh lemons from a friend and had no idea what to do with all of them. I was a little hesitant because 2 cups of lemon juice sounded like a lot but this lemonade is So delicious : Definitely try it! item not reviewed by moderator and published
I made a few different lemonade recipes in my time...but by far... this is the best tasting one I came across...it is so good !!! Thanks alot Paula !! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Delicious! I only bought 6 large lemons, which yielded 1.5 cups of juice but it was still perfectly lemony. Very good recipe! item not reviewed by moderator and published
We have a lemon tree so I have tried many lemonade recipes. Paula Deen's Recipe for Lemonade is the best! It's the only recipe I use and it's easy to increase or decrease the amount. Thank you, Paula Deen for the best lemonade recipe, ever! item not reviewed by moderator and published
I used this recipe as a base for an idea I had and it turned out to be the best lemonade I have ever had. Instead of using hot water to dissolve the sugar I made a simple syrup with the two cups of sugar and two cups of water. I brought them to a boil and then turned off the heat and added the lemon zest from about six lemons. I let it cool and then put it in the refrigerator overnight. I then strained the syrup into my pitcher and pressed on the zest to get the maximum amount of flavor and added my juice and water. It truly was the best lemonade. I think the oils from the zest just round out the flavor really well! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Delicious! I loved it and my family loved it. I'm going to be making it again for my aunt Melissa's visit in two weeks. It'll go perfectly with the picnic-style meal I'm preparing. item not reviewed by moderator and published

Great recipe and easy to make. It stays good for about a week as well. Mix it with some Firefly Sweet Tea Vodka for a nice treat. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I love her Lemonade!! Just the right amount of Sweet and tart. I used 8 Lemons, and it just barely came to 2 cups of Lemon Juice. Perfect for a hot humid summer afternoon <3 item not reviewed by moderator and published
I love this lemonade! I use only one cup of sugar, because I like it a little tart. Strangely enough this was the best thing for my morning sickness! item not reviewed by moderator and published

We loved, loved this yummy lemonade. My 11 year old daughter made this for her lemonade stand and she got many comments. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I loved this lemonade. It was too delicious to put in words. Thanks Paula. item not reviewed by moderator and published
This is delicious beyond words!!! Its better than the store bought newmans own i will make this forever! item not reviewed by moderator and published
This is a great guide to start with. What most people don't realize is that all lemons differ in tartness and strength of flavor, especially home grown ones, so it doesn't really matter which recipe you choose. They all have to be tweeked sometimes. It is good to use this as a starting point, and then alter based on taste. item not reviewed by moderator and published
For my first try making homemade lemonade, this wasn't bad, but not at all what I wanted. It wasn't nearly lemony enough and for me it was TOO sweet. I'm gonna search for another recipe, or just wing it. Really though Paula's would be the best! :( item not reviewed by moderator and published
Not HORRIBLE, well not after I did the tweaking. I agree with other comments, it was too watery and I had to add more sugar and more lemon juice in order to make it taste like anything, at first it really just tasted like flavored water, not lemonade even crystal light has more flavor! Kinda bummed that Paula would endorse this recipe, but I guess everyone has a difference of opinion. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I think it was way too watery. I cut the recipe in half and it tasted good but i think that there should have been more lemon juice to give it a tastier after taste. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I Love This Recipe! It Tastes Amazing! and Looks Delicious! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Recipe was wonderful and refreshing. I did cut back on the sugar though, added only 1 cup sugar and was perfect! item not reviewed by moderator and published
I have been fiending for some fresh lemonade so I went searching for a recipe. I always read the reviews of a recipe before I make something. This lemonade is "WONDERFUL!" I must say all the reviews were right on. My family enjoyed it. Its sweet as well as sour, pure delicious. Thank you so much Paula, this most likely will be something that will be made in our home every week...too bad lemons don't come in the size of oranges, lol. item not reviewed by moderator and published

My husband made this recipe for my sister's baby shower and it went so fast and received so many compliments! I became addicted to it and now we have to have a pitcher of it in our fridge at all times. item not reviewed by moderator and published
This is it- search no more! Perfect! I used (2) 2lb bag of lemons (about 20 med/small- we get in New England) to just get to 2 cuos of juice... I didn't have extra slices for garnish, but I don't think it will last long enough for such formalities anyway. Perhaps if I was using a juice squeezer I could have produced a little more juice. I did squish the lemons before cutting them to release the juice from the pulp, so that definitely helps if you don't already know the trick. Also, I made it in a plastic container with a lid to shake instead of stir so the ingredients would really incorporate well. This is not just a fabuous recipe, it is THE recipe to compare all other lemonades to... At last! Thanks! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Why is it sometimes the simplest thing can be the hardest to perfect. Paula has done it here. The lemonade is delicious. It has a perfect combination of sweetness and tart. What a nice treat for everyone tonight as we are grilling outside. Thank you Paula! Side note: I used about 8-10 lemons to get 2 cups of lemon juice. They were large and super juicy. The 1 cup of hot water to the sugar is a great tip and worked perfectly. item not reviewed by moderator and published
this lemonade is a wonderful treat to have in the summer.I made half a gallon and was great. It is a light lemonade. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Made 2 gallons of this for the 4th of July. Used 17 very large lemons and followed the directions exactly. Everyone loved the lemonade! Thank you Paula Deen. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Who would have thought that something that was so easy to make could be so delicious and refreshing! This will quickly become a summer staple in my home! FYI it will take about 14 lemons to get 2 cups of juice. item not reviewed by moderator and published

Perfect blend of sweet and sour. Refreshing and not too overpowering. Paula's recipes are always the best, so I knew this one had to be good! I highly recommend it. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I just made this today, 3/14/10 with my daughter. The taste is just right, not sweet nor sour! I used newly gathered and freshly squeezed lemons. My in-laws who are "afraid" of sweet stuff liked it. By far, this is the best yet. Simple and tasty! Thanks, Paula. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Just had my first lemons ready from my tree and they made a delightful lemonade, not too sweet, not too tart, but just right. Thanks Paula! item not reviewed by moderator and published
I really loved this lemonade. I never like the stuff you can buy in stores because it is waaay too sweet. This way is perfect! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Very simple. Love the idea of dissolving the sugar in hot water first. item not reviewed by moderator and published
As always, Paula Deen, 5 stars!!!! No matter what I am making food or drink, I can always count it a winner if it is your recipe. I enjoy your recipes so very much. I enjoy You, your boys and of course all your shows. You are the BEST!!!! Thanks for sharing such delicious recipes. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I'd give this recipe 10 stars if possible! I've been looking for a good recipe for lemonade, specifically one that gives the exact amount of lemon juice and sugar needed. Paula, your measurements are perfect! It's not even completely cold yet and over half of it is gone. My family loves it! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Of course, Paula would have the best tasting, easiest to prepare recipe for great summer lemonade. I needed something different for a celebration at work and boy did they love this lemonade. I dipped the rim of the glasses in the lemonade, then in sugar for extra sparkle. This is the best tasting lemonade. Forget the fake stuff, this is the real deal. You'll never buy store bought again. Paula - what would we do without you! It's so worth the effort of squeezing the lemons. I used my Pampered Chef citrus squeezer and it was almost fun. item not reviewed by moderator and published
The only difficulty this recipe poses is getting all those lemons squeezed for the juice! This is neither too tart nor too sweet, it's perfectly balanced! We are having a picnic on Saturday, and I am going to make this to take as my drink. item not reviewed by moderator and published
I made it for my family today and each of them liked it. I used raw sugar but it was still good. Evreybody siad the lemonade was not to sweet but it was not sour either. Thank you Paula item not reviewed by moderator and published
This lemonade recipe is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!! We waste so many lemons off of our tree each year, so I have been searching for good recipes using lemon. This was so easy to make (even using a manual juicer)! item not reviewed by moderator and published
It is so easy and tastes wonderful. We have a lemon tree so the only expense is sugar. Best of all my kids don't drink soda anymore. Paula your the best!!! item not reviewed by moderator and published
I used the juice of one additional lemon, because I like it tart. YUM. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Simple and delicious. Just sweet enough, a good way to enjoy the winter citrus here in Arizona! item not reviewed by moderator and published
Very easy! Not to tart not to sweet just perfect. Paula does it again! item not reviewed by moderator and published
The children had so much fun with there first lemonade stand. Why shouldn't they, they made over $30. It wasn't even that hot outside. They had mix-ins to, puree strawberry and blackberry. People kept coming back! They also brought there friends and family back too! The only thing I added to this was the lemon rind. I couldn't see wasting it, I put it into the hot water and sugar mix. I will always use this recipe from now on!!! Down side was the price of the lemons! So much money, but worth the happiness of the children. Besides it paid for itself. item not reviewed by moderator and published
Finally an easy lemonade recipe! I use this all of the time! Birthdays, showers and everyday BBQ's! It is the best and easiest one I have found and people rave about how good it is! Thanks Paula!! item not reviewed by moderator and published
I made this on one of the hottest days of the year. My husband pronounced it "dainty" and proceeded to guzzle it down. This recipe is not cloyingly sweet nor is it too tart. Just like Grandma used to make. I have been trying for years to get the right balance and this is it. This one goes in the permanant recipe file. item not reviewed by moderator and published
you obviously don't read instructions well.... You mix all of that into the jug and add the water to make a gallon. item not reviewed by moderator and published
But is says 1 gallon cold water in the ingredients list. item not reviewed by moderator and published
He (or she?) reads rather well, actually. In a 1 gallon container, if you add 1 gallon of COLD water + 1 cup of hot water + 2 cups of lemon juice = OVERFLOW. The recipe is delicious, the measurements are a little whacky though. item not reviewed by moderator and published
