Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup hot water
- 2 cups fresh lemon juice
- 1 gallon cold water
- 1 lemon, sliced
- Mint sprigs, for garnish
Directions
In a 1 gallon container, place sugar and hot water, and stir until sugar dissolves. Add lemon juice and cold water to render 1 gallon. Stir until well mixed. Pour lemonade over glasses of ice, squeeze slice of lemon on top of each, and garnish with a sprig of mint.

I didn't add the whole gallon of water...but we did add a small amount of frozen strawberries and the juice..this is a keeper!!!

Good, but too watered down with 1 gallon of water (which is why 4 stars instead of 5. We reduced water to 2 Qts (by half in order to taste the lemon and sweetness to my family's liking. Definitely make the simple syrup over stove, cool then add - makes a big difference in the mouth feel.

Yumm! We made this yesterday after a hot day of gardening, it is so refreshing and perfect. Made the simple syrup first and poured it into the jug along with the lemon juice, water and a few ice cubes. Reminds me of the lemonade my mom used to make for us as a child. Love you Paula! :
