My husband made this recipe for my sister's baby shower and it went so fast and received so many compliments! I became addicted to it and now we have to have a pitcher of it in our fridge at all times.

This is it- search no more! Perfect! I used (2 2lb bag of lemons (about 20 med/small- we get in New England to just get to 2 cuos of juice... I didn't have extra slices for garnish, but I don't think it will last long enough for such formalities anyway. Perhaps if I was using a juice squeezer I could have produced a little more juice. I did squish the lemons before cutting them to release the juice from the pulp, so that definitely helps if you don't already know the trick. Also, I made it in a plastic container with a lid to shake instead of stir so the ingredients would really incorporate well. This is not just a fabuous recipe, it is THE recipe to compare all other lemonades to... At last! Thanks!

Why is it sometimes the simplest thing can be the hardest to perfect. Paula has done it here. The lemonade is delicious. It has a perfect combination of sweetness and tart. What a nice treat for everyone tonight as we are grilling outside. Thank you Paula!
Side note: I used about 8-10 lemons to get 2 cups of lemon juice. They were large and super juicy. The 1 cup of hot water to the sugar is a great tip and worked perfectly.

Made 2 gallons of this for the 4th of July. Used 17 very large lemons and followed the directions exactly. Everyone loved the lemonade! Thank you Paula Deen.

Who would have thought that something that was so easy to make could be so delicious and refreshing! This will quickly become a summer staple in my home! FYI it will take about 14 lemons to get 2 cups of juice.
