When i found this receipt it looked so GOOD, my grandma said we had to try it. My family doesn't like raisins in there cookies so i left those and the nuts out. To make up for that i added 1/4 teaspoon of pumpkin spice. When the cookies came out of the oven and had cooled we did a taste tester. They turned out so well that we did not add the icing. My family loved them so much i had to hid the Jar from them, just to make the cookies last. Thank you Paula for your awesome receipt.

I made these for Christmas and they were delicious. I thought they would be very spicy, but they weren't. All the spices worked really well together, and they are very moist and chewy. I LOVED the glaze on top.

I made these cookies for my husband and they were awesome! I did not frost them though - good without it.

I was looking for a few recipes to add to my recipe box, and came across this one. Just for fun I thought I would check this recipe against the Vanishing Oatmeal Cookie recipe on the Quaker Oats big tube. I love this recipe and made it for years. I slightly chill the dough, us disher to drop large scoops, and cook till very chewy. I often used Trade Joe's dried cherries instead of raisins. I have the round box top with the recipe from the last tube I opened, and brought it to the computer to compare. I was shocked to find Paula's recipe had 3X the fat, and lots less oatmeal. The quaker oats recipe is GREAT, so I will skip this one.
