Hi, I grew up on these Cookies. They are wonderful and a very old recipe indeed!!!
One difference, variation ( and my preference to try is with the icing . We make ours as a drizzle and using lemon flavor or zest with juice.
Grandmother always said "Coconut needs a little lemon"!
She would cut them in little squares then pour the icing drizzle covering the top! Yum-EE!
    Great Food, Great Memories!!!

These cookies were delicious! We made them for a low country boil party and they were a hit. These were prob the easiest cookies I have ever made. You must try them.

First of all, there is no such thing as a dessert being too sweet! That being said, can I give these cookies more than five stars??? They were incredibly delicious!!! They sat in my fridge for two days and I was worried that the graham crackers might get soggy. Not at all. They were a easy to cut and the graham crackers still had a nice crunch to them. I took the suggestion of one of the reviews and sprinkled toasted coconut on top of the frosting (but not in the butter mixture. It added a nice look and flavor. Can't wait to make these cookies again!!

    WAY TOO SWEET!
From all of the 5-star reviews I was so excited to try this recipe BUT I ended up throwing the whole pan away! The graham crackers ended up getting soggy! A waste of ingredients!

This dessert was killer great. Weight Watcher's would devote an entire meeting to this recipe if I brought it up. I'm real glad I made them, but now I'm gifting them to friends and family because they're a "red hot" item to me . . .I'd go WAY overboard if nobody was looking!

Very good! I was surprised by how the graham crackers make such a nice crust. I will definitely try the other recipes calling for whole graham crackers for the crust.

These are wonderful!!! I can't stay out of them. Saw Paula make these on TV so I went to the store and got the stuff to make them. I was not sorry these are to die for and easy to make. I had no idea these would be this good. This one is a keeper. I am now giving the recipe out to all my friends. I will be making these again and again.

Absolutely perfect! And, they couldn't be easier to make. Loved the idea to use a cream cheese topping, so I will definitely be trying that next time.

I had some cream cheese frosting I was trying to find a use for. And these came out very good. I did toast the coconut and pecans before mixing them in for a deeper flavor. And after I mixed the sugar into the butter, I took it off the flame for about 5 minutes or so while I was preparing the other items to mix in. Then combined the egg/milk mixture into the sugared butter, stirring attentively. I don't know if I was being over cautious, but I did not have any problems with scrambled eggs. These are quick and easy to make for those moments where you don't really feel like baking but need something sweet.
