I made this for my husband and I last night and we throughly enjoyed it. The chops were very tender and spicy. Being from south Louisiana spice is a must!

I think floridians need to adjust their heat is all. The recipe does say ''simmer''.
I found this dish to be a real treat, in fact there wasn't enough to go around for seconds. Next time I make this for the fam, Ill be sure to double up on everything. Simply delicious! GOOOOOOOOOOO PAULA!

My wife and I love this recipe. The chops were moist and fork tender. The only bad comments were from Florida, so if you live there maybe you should have someone else cook for you, because this recipe works great.

I don't make pork chops very often, even though my husband loves them, because they tend to be dry and a little chewy. These were very moist and very tender, and I found them to be very flavorful. I was pretty liberal with the seasonings, including using them on the vegetables, and they had lots of flavor. This recipe is definitely a keeper.

Had 2 good sized thick pork chops and used this recipe. The chops were very tender and not dry. I thought this was a good recipe. Even though I only used 2 chops, I did not adjust the other ingrediants.

This recipe looked good on TV but IMO had no taste. Very bland - not sure if I did something wrong it seemed pretty straight forward but I really didn't care for it. The chops will take more than 45 minutes to be tender. Don't waste your money- make one of the other smothered pork chop recipes listed.

Ok, so after reading the first reviewer, i think I should have lowered the heat. Mine were tender but not as much as expected. Overall, good recipe to change up pork chops, which I am not usually a big fan of. I had forgotten the yellow onions as the store and so if I make this again, I think the onions are a big part of the flavor.

I made this last night and the chops were fork tender, no knife required. The trick is to use a very low simmer after the chops are returned to the pot and I cooked mine for 1 hour. I could not find celery root so I just made the potatoes without and served with creamed peas. A fine meal indeed.
