My husband told me that I couldn't make Divinity cause he had tried it and it didn't work... So I said BRING IT!!! I saw you make it on your show and looked it up here on the net. I made it and it came out PERFECT.. We couldn't keep our hands out of it. My husband had to take it to work cause I was eating it all. Thanks Paula and everybody enjoy her divinity. It makes ALOT!!!!

Great taste and texture. Brings back memories of my childhood. Taste like my mother's when I was a child.

Now this divinity is as good as what my Dad use to make when I was a kid. So wonderful. Send Candy paks to friends, they say the best they have ever eaten.

Great divinity recipe!! To WENDY in LOS ANGELES: Here are a few reasons that divinity doesn't set up: 1 The egg whites weren't beat until stiff peaks formed 2 There may have been a little bit of egg yolk in your whites, or a little oil residue in the bowl you beat the whites in 3 The batch may not have been beat long enough after adding the hot syrup to the egg whites (The beater will start to sound a bit sluggish when the mixture has been beat enough. 4 Or there was too much humity in the air. You can add a pinch of cream of tarter to the egg whites before beating to help the candy to set better. Hope this helps.

i definitely made a mistake. mine was not able to shape and stuck to the wax paper. ive never had divinity before, but it tasted so good. i realized i used light corn syrup instead of white corn syrup. is that the reason why mine came out wrong or is it cause i needed to beat it until stiff. really want to make this again but need some tips.

I grew up helping my mom with the candy making before Christmas. I always remember divinity being the problem child. When I moved out on my own I would still go back home for the candy sessions. This year I did some of it myself. My Mom wasnt going to do divinity, so I was on my own. I love Paula and was very excited seeing her recipie. I had NO problems. It came out just perfect and EVERYONE loved it, even my mom.

This recipe is as good as an old one I had for divinity, but this one is much easier! Definitely only make it on a dry day though!!

I love the recipe for mama's divinity. It is a candy i have had only once or twice in my life and am very fond of it. I was happy to see that the recipe was rather simple. I can't wait to try it myself. And, i loved the show you had with this recipe in it. I laughed and so did my mother. I loved your explanation about pecans.
