I was very disappointed as this has a very thin taste to it, not rich & creamy the way you expect eggnog to be. In comparison to other eggnog recipes this one has a much higher ratio of milk (4 pts to cream (1 pt which is what I think is the problem. I would not make it again.

I have made this recipe every year for the past 6 years. It is the BEST egg nog recipe. I have made it for parties and everyone always loves it. I use brandy instead of the bourbon. Oh- and I use whole milk- some of the fattier milks so that it is rich tasting. I did make it with skim one year at my parents and it was good too! :

Absolutely THE best eggnog ever. I have made this for several years now and it has become the one thing I make during Christmas season that is most requested by family and friends!

This is the first time I've made eggnog and I will now make it every Christmas using this recipe. I used Maker's Mark Kentucky bourbon and it was yummy! Thanks again for a great recipe, Paula!

My children actually request this for their Christmas parties at school. Since moving to Australia, Christmas is hot! So I have to be very careful to keep it cold but haven't met a person who tried it that didn't love it. I make an alcohol free version (of course for the kids and I prefer spiced Rum for the adults. This is a family favorite and it wouldnt be Christmas without it!! Thanks to Paula and her mother :

I made this eggnog on Christmas day and added quite a bit of groung nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves.
I'd recommend adding:
1 T Ground Nutmeg
1 T Cinnamon
1 tsp Ground Cloves
I omitted the alcohol, but I allowed guests to add it as they were pouring their drinks.
I also discovered that in making a big batch for me and one guest, that there was a bunch left over. I poured it into my ice cream maker and enjoyed it as a wonderful accompaniment to pumpkin pie!

This is the EASIEST nog recipe I've ever made. I've been making this for three years now and I'm not allowed to show up for family Christmas without it! From one Georgia Peach to another, your mama was incredible to have passed this recipe on!
