We made this for Easter but all of us thought it was good but so-so. There was something lacking; my husband thought we should have cooked the asparagus a little. I thought they should have been marinated overnight. It was ok but not fantastic or something I would do again.

We enjoyed this side dish for our Easter meal. It was so easy to do. This will definitely be a repeat in our home.

When my family came in to get Easter dinner I said, "now I wont be mad if none of you want to try the asparagus". Surprisingly my mom was thrilled to eat it and take some home even my picky father in law ate all of his. My kids ate it my hsuband liked it. I liked it tons. I did not use tarragon or tarragon vinieger I just used lite dressing <pre made> and sprinkled grated parmesan over it all. A surprise hit of Easter dinner. Now David in NY... didnt you know that you can change the channel or do you not have a remote where you live. In the South we know if we cant say something nice to not say anything at all. We also know one of the great universal truths: mayo goes with everything.

I would not use canned aspargus again. The aspargus was toooooooo mushy.

This recipe is wonderful. My family just loved it. And as for Daivd..all I can say is Sugar..I always ate asparagus with mayo until I tried it as Paula fixed it or roasted with olive oil and Kosher salt and pepper..and as "we" say in the south..Bless your heart..if you can't say something nice..maybe you shouldn't say anything at all. And agreeing with other posts can't help but wonder..if you don't like her style of cooking why in the world do you watch her show.

I served this dish with optional mayo on the side. I have found some folks do not like the taste of mayo. I always use and serve Miracle Whip. This is a bright springtime light salad. Thanks Paula!

If you are an asparagus lover, you MUST try this recipe. I love the idea of cold, crisp asparagus. The mayonaise dipping sauce is so delicious...don't change a thing to this recipe. Also, it is so easy for entertaining. Love it!
