It is bland when you make it according to the recipe. It really needs to be modified: I season the chicken well while boiling. I use Ro-Tel tomatoes and have added a little of the chicken broth to thin out the chicken & soup mixture. I also put cheese between the layers. I think next time I may switch out the cheese soup for something else.
This was almost inedible. It was quite easy to make, so it is to bad that it did not taste good at all. I had to throw it away and make a second dinner for my family. My husband ended up eating hard boiled eggs for dinner and my kids ate chicken nuggets.
I wanted to try this recipe anyway, despite the rather low reviews. While I enjoy most of her recipes, this one is not a keeper. I won't be making this again.
Easy, comforting, and everyone loves it here! Paula does it again.
    Just ok.
Nice homestyle dish I just eliminated one of the cans of soup and I thought that it was very good
Awesome Paula!!! It was Great & Easy!!! Thank You Much!!!
    It was Fantastic
It was alright, but it was not good enough to justify the effort or amount of ingredients needed.
    Tasty!!! i loved it...
flavor was good but texture was gooey. the flour tortillas ended up as dough. affected taste also.
I really like this recipe because it is very tasty and because you can add in your own touches and modification. I used a blend of cheese and instead of cream of chicken I used onion soup.
    Tasty!!!!i love it
love this. mexican one of my favorites.chicken wasnt dry.lots of good cheese
    it was just ok.
its so good i really want to make it again
Very delicious! However, its is more like "mexican chicken pot pie" instead of a mexican chicken cassarole. As per the other reviews I also made the following changes to enchance the flavor:
Rotel - Diced Tomatoes and Chili
Trader Joes' - Organic Black Beans - Drained
Trader Joes' - Mixed Shredded Mexican Cheese (YUM
Rotiserrie Chicken - From Sam's Club
It was PERFECT!! It wasn't messy. Easy to cut and delicious!!!
    This is a great recipe
Tried it and loved it. Would definitely try it again
I was really disapointed there was nothing mexican about it. I usually love your dishes. But as you can see eveyone has added something to it to make it a little taster. The only thing mexican about it was the tortilas.LOL Sorry Paula but this one is a not. Love your shows though. And I do have some of your cook books and take you magazine. And use a lot of your recipes.
This was very easy to make my family like it i will make this again.I added a cam of Rotel hot instead of the can of tomato.I cooked rice as a side.
Wonderful, easy dish. I added a can of Rotel instead of just plain tomato. Wow that kicks it up! The sause is great for dipping your chips in as well.:
I litterally just made this 3 hrs ago and LOVE it . so i did do some changes because i was scared that it would be bland. For the recipie as is i would give it 2 stars but it is a good starting point. I used a rotisserie chicken from the store cuts on prep time and also addes alot of flavor. i added some cilantro, red pepper flakes, and a can of diced jalapenos. we also used jalapeno and cheddar tortillas and it came out GREAT! and was not that spicy at all but added the needed flavor.
I read a few of the reviews that said the finished dish didn't have much flavor. To ensure that did not happen to me, I added a packet of taco seasoning to the soup/chicken/tomato (Rotel mixture. I also made sure to season the chicken very well with salt, pepper, onion and garlic powders, cumin and chipotle chili powder. To put more protein in the dish, I also rinsed a can of black beans and added them to the mix. I can't speak to what it would taste like if the recipe was followed exactly, but I'm guessing if the chicken isn't seasoned liberally, the result would be rather bland. We'll definitely make this again!
No flavor, not one ingredient suggests mexican. She best stay with Southern cooking.
This recipe is horrible! Three soups make a paste.I wondered if I shouldn't dilute while making but did not deviate from the recipe. I will not make it again. Doesn't anyone test these first?
this is so goodddddddddddddddd love it , thank paula
