Great recipe for a great shortbread cookie - just the right amount of sweetness. Easy to make! A favorite when I recently served this over Thanksgiving. Everyone wants the recipe! Thank you Paula for sharing this great cookie recipe with us.

I grew up eating what we called "Mom's really good cookies" aka Mexican Wedding Cookies. My Mom has hands down the best cookies. Years ago I lost her version of them and have been on a mission to find it. Now usually I am a fan of Paula's food but I honestly have to say that I am disappointed with these. Now I don't know if they are just mine but I flowed this to the T and they are just very flimsy cookies. The whole time I kept saying to myself "There's something missing from these."
Now to be clear, the flavor is there, the texture is not. I guess I keep trying recipes until I find the right one.

People couldn't help but keep coming back for more of these!!! Plus they were super easy to make, and I already had all the ingredients on hand.

This is the best cookie ever! The is the best cookie recipe I have ever baked. When you eat one -- you will eat several more! I made this receipe for the first time and the cookies didn't last very long. Four days later I had to make another batch since my husband ate them all. He said that the cookies were "super super delicious! Every time he ate one -- he raved about how wonderful the cookie tasted. The second time I made these cookes -- I added 1/2 cup more chopped pecansto the recipe and they were so much more delicious!

I cooked these at 350 for 18 minutes and they were wonderful. Next time I may add another 1/4-1/2 cup of powdered sugar to the cookie dough mix. I like my cookies nice and sweet. This cookie is delicate and crisp - I'll definitely make it again.

I think I may know what problem you're having with all of your cookies. In this recipe there is no baking powder. The rise comes from the air bubbles when you cream the butter and sugar together. Try creaming your butter and sugar together longer (you'll notice the color and texture of the butter change... you'll want to use a mixer, or look online for alternatives. I hope this helps... because these cookies are AMAZING, and you'll want to try them again.

Can anyone help me out. This is another type of cookies I wanted to succeed in baking. I have attempted baking cookies many times and what the heck is going on that mine ends up in the garbage because all my cookies turned out flat like paper even while it is still inside the oven. I do follow what the instructions says
but maybe there's some other tips I am not aware.

Please help me, I would love to bake cookies and be able to eat it. I have not been able to do that.
