When I was a little girl, my mother made these and she called them Wedding Cookies. After I was married, a friend made these for me during the Christmas season, and called them Snowball Cookies. Now, I am a stay at home mom of three precocious preschoolers, and one day I'm watching Paula on the TV, and she refers to them as Mexican Wedding Cookies. Whatever they are called, they are delicious!
When we made them the other day, we didn't have any pecans in the pantry so we left them out. Even without the pecans, they were as delicious as I remember!

I used to buy these cookies at Whole Foods and pay around $7.00. I make these for a fraction of the cost and I actually think they are better than store bought because they are not too sweet.

Normally my boyfriend only wants chocolate chip cookies over the holidays. He asked me to make these cookies again. Nuff said.

This is a recipe that I had for years, but somehow misplaced. Thank you Paula Dean for having it on your website. They are melt in your mouth Deelicious.
Now I can bake them for Christmas 2005 and therefore satisfy my grown daughter's request for them.
Great for all occasions, providing you don't eat them as fast as they get made.

I've made these twice since Saturday. Biggest problem is that I still have to make them again, if I want to have them for Christmas. I've never been tempted without chocolate till now. Cheated with salted butter and cooking spray instead of parchment paper. Fabulous! Would recommend placing a few at a time in a deep mixing bowl and tapping the sugar thru a strainer to save on cleanup, rather than rolling them in it.

you really can't go wrong with all that butter! these cookies were great. what sucks is that they are so small you get carried away eating them.

These cookies are out of this world. I found them to be easier than I thought they would be, festive and totally, insanely delicious! I have a new staple to add to my cookie basket!
