I've never taken the time to review any recipes but I thought these were so good I had to say something. They are fabulous. Everyone who has tasted them has asked for your recipe. I've made it at least six times using mini cupcake pans so that each one is a mouthful. Making them again next week for my granddaughters sweet 16 & then again in three weeks for my daughter-in-laws baby shower. Only made 1 change I used salted butter. Thanks for a truly great recipe.

Did not like the crust, had no flavor what so ever. Calls for unsalted butter and no seasoning, except a 1/4 tsp salt...that is nothing!. Not sure I will try again even with all the yummy suggestions...Sorry not a good one for me.

Great to the taste....I was sceptical about the sour cream but it was great. It taste like my grandma's mac and cheese. One thing I would change would be to add some melted cheese to the macaroni to get the cheesiness in every elbow. Thanks Paula!

We followed the recipe and they were way too dry and very bland. The macaroni needs more sauce and the ritz bottom should be baked to help crispen them up. They also did not come easily out of the pan.

Seriously Paula, stop it!! These were great. I made a couple of changes. First, I added a wee bit (< half tsp of cayanne pepper to the crackers for a hint of heat. I also added less milk than called called for. I would only recommend this if you want less creamy as we did. Pressing the crackers is was messy at first, but our trick was to dump crumbs in and press from the bottom and then up the sides. It's not important that the crust comes evenly up all sides. They will be beautiful out of the oven.
Here's where we had fun. We set aside some chopped sundried tomatoes, bacon bits, and jalapenos. After over filling a few "plain" tins, we over filled the rest with different combinations. My favorite was tomatoes and jalapenos! We purposely made extra for a picnic. This was excellent with a big green salad and a glass of wine.
Lesson some commenters is if your cracker mixture looks too dry, add more butter. If your macaroni looks dry, add more milk. We had some other cheeses around so the last bit of gruyere and gorgonzola went in too.
This one will cost you an extra 5 miles at the gym, but very worth it! In my house, we say that food cooked well makes you want to smack yo mama. This is a smack yo mama dish that's easy to make your own.

I agree with Jeffrey, all I could taste was the crackers. No flavor from the mac & cheese/pasta end. Definatley needs "something" else. I like the idea of the red pepper flakes or adding bacon.

This was a great concept, but the only thing I can taste are the Ritz crackers. I taste no cheese. I can see doing this recipe again, but I'd have to alter it quite a bit. To those of you that gave this 5 stars because it looked good on TV, that's not the point of the rating system.

These turned out great, and the kids - small and grown up loved them! There was a crispy edge that made them just fantastic. We made them a second time and added crushed red pepper flakes for the grown ups. Big hit! To the "fowl mouth" comment below ... "Fowl" is a chicken. Paula does not have a "Foul" mouth. She brings great joy to everyone, and my family and I happen to get a big kick out of her great humor. We loved this recipe! Thanks Paula and Jamie, and we enjoyed seeing little Jack.

For those who have made these macaroni pies. do you think this dish would work as a casserole style dish instead of the mini pies? I'd like to make a large amount and it seems it would be less time consuming to not have to make each mini pie and do one large dish.
Thanks

This was a good receipe. My husband said that when they made it on TV he thought they baked the shells a bit before putting the mac & cheese in them. The receipe didn't indicate that so I didn't do it. They were still good, just not as crispy as on TV. Also, I recommend using thickly shredded cheese. I used the thin, and the consistency wasn't as good as it could have been. Over all, good receipe, we will definitely make it again.
