This turned out pretty awesome -
i roasted some : Jalapenos, onions, garlic and a red bell pepper, chopped up some parsley and mixed all of this into the batter. The cornbread turned out really moist, pretty and tasty!

Excellent!! I made bite sized muffins that came out with a beautiful crisp golden crust in the outside with an incredibly moist inside. I did up the sugar, as a tablespoon is not enough for true cornbread.

I was surprised the recipe called for so little salt and sugar. My 7 year old tasted it and said it's moist, it just needs flavor. True!

I was incredibly disappointed in this receipe! It was tasteless! It had a fant taste of corn but nothing like i expected from a southern womans receipes. I feel as if cornmeal was not enough to give it the proper taste. it was also dry and took longer to cook then said. sorry, not a winner at all

This is my go to recipe for cornbread. It is always moist and delicious! With all that butter, how do you go wrong? It is versatile too. Sometimes I add jalapeno and sometimes I add creamed corn depending on my mood but usually I make it just the way it is and serve it with fresh made honey butter! DELLLIIISSSHH. Also makes excellent muffins. I too, do not understand the bad reviews. Thanks Paula. You are a great source for fantastic recipes.

I thought I would try this since not everyone in their reviews. First off, its really runny when you put it in the pan to bake. (It didnt say anything about that in the recipe My first question is is this recipe really Paula's???. This recipe has not taste at all other than the egg base and i added more sugar to it and vanilla since we like that. It is horible so dont waste you time, I dont know what the other people are saying its good, its a waste of money to make. So dont waste your cornmeal. I am a person i dont believe what others say and i do it anyway, this was definitly something I should have listened to the others not to bake. Yekkk!

Horrible recipe!! It took way longer than 25 minutes and was still liquid in the middle, and the outside was getting super brown. I am an avid cook, so I couldn't understand why it wasn't cooking properly. I ended up throwing out the entire thing! :(

I just made this recipe and am surprised by the negative reviews, it came out great for me. I doubled the sugar hoping to add a bit more sweetness to it, but I may just stick to the recipe next time. I thought it was light and fluffy (having some white flour helped in this regard and the flavor had a nice balance between the corn and the buttermilk. I may even try browning the butter next time to add a little more "nuttiness" to it. Also, I used a cast iron skillet rather than a baking dish and was sure to take it out of the oven right after the top browned and the center felt set.

This was the most tasteless cornbread I've ever had! Sorry Paula. I am an avid baker and have made other delicious baked goods from her recipes. I made this for Super Bowl Sunday to accompany some great jambalaya for friends. Everyone agreed it was tasteless and dry (and I did not over bake. Tossing out this recipe!

This corn bread was ok! I had to add more sugar. It took 15 minutes longer to get done.
