I followed eaj35's suggested tweeks to the recipe and it's awesome! I even used 1% milk instead of buttermilk which I didn't have on hand at the time and it came out great. It's even better than the recipe I've been using for years....thank-you!

Definitely not the best I've ever made. However, with tweaking it like the other reviewers suggested it totally worked with our chili night. Next time I might add honey instead of sugar.

I was so disappointed with this recipes! I thought that this kind of thing would be Paula Dean's specialty. The texture is nice, but it doesn't taste like anything. I read some of the suggestions below (adding more sugar and salt, which might help but I think I am just going to find a different recipe.

Some of the best cornbread I've ever made ! Might I add that I'm 76 yrs old and have made cornbread many many times. The only addition to the bread would be 1 tsp. salt and about 3 Tbs sugar. I will definately make this again! Thanks, Paula

I loved it!!! I normally just use a jiffy box but wanted to try this. It was very easy to make and turned out great!! I added 3 TBS of sugar instead of 1 because I like my cornbread sweet.

This cornbread comes out perfect. I love it and I think it tastes great. Iam not sure why some people thought it didn't have any flavor. I wouldn't have wanted it any sweeter or saltier.

Don't even bother making this unless you want the most flavorless corn bread ever! I really thought I was going to an expert by choosing Paula's recipe. So disappointed we had to throw it out. It did have good texture but more sugar and/or salt. I'm making a new batch today from another recipe to have with the leftover chili.

This recipe was awesome. M husband loved it but did say it needed more salt. I had always used the Aunt Jemima recipe before & will continue to use it for making my Thanksgiving dressing but this will be my day to day recipe. Loved it.

I did love the texture and moistness, but it needed a touch more salt and maybe sugar. It pairs well with something spicy. From Paula I always expect richness, this had the possibility but didn't measure up on taste.
