for the one who didn't know where to get cream of tartar, you can get it at wal mart in the spice section.

Very good, but I prefer Alton Brown's if I am comparing. They hold their shape and taste better. Don't get me wrong, these are very good, but if you want a recipe thats great for cookie cutters, use Alton's! These puffed a little more than I'd like. Great for a non cookie cutter shape or just round shape. Love you Paula!

This recipe is just "OK". They didn't taste bad and we did eat them up pretty quickly but its not something I would serve to company.

I love this recipe. this has become my new sugar cookie recipe hands down. My kids and hubby loved the flavor, would have to say they loved it more without the icing on them.... they were practically gone before we could get them all iced!!!! I do have one suggestion for anyone who wants to try this for cookies with detailed designs. Choose cookie cutter designs that do not have alot of detail, dough does like to expand, but we did very basic designs and they came out fabulous...

I have always been intimidated by roll-out cookies - but these are easy to make and delicious! I make a double batch to send to the kids away at college.

    Hi Christine,

Since the recipe says "sprinkle" the sugar over the rolled out dough, I would say just eyeball it and use enough to cover the dough lightly. Hope this helps!
