These are the the favorites of everyone in my family....have been told they are the best cookies they have ever eaten...a few tips from someone who have made these a few times...

the oatmeal option makes these cookies what they are...

You can substitute any chocoate you like in place of the M & M's (they are just as good but for a change.. last time I switched it up and cut up the new peanut butter snickers into chunks and added them in for a bit of a change....

you will think they are not done when you bake them but they are meant to wilt back down to flat cookies, dont burn!

whoever says they dont like these either made them wrong or just dont have a good sweet tooth in my opinion!

These cookies were absolutely amazing! I don't think I've ever gotten as many compliments on something I baked! They are super easy, too. Be warned, though, this makes a LOT of cookies. Definitely not a problem, as they disappeared so quickly, but we must have wound up with 4 dozen cookies - after eating lots of dough!

I've made these for cookie swapping parties. Always gets rave reviews. I add in different kinds of candies too. Watch so they don't get too browned up!

This was NOT a good recipe. Usually, I love monster cookies so I gave it a try. When I baked them in the oven, all the cookies mashed together into one huge cookie blob. It also spilled all inside the oven and made a huge mess. The cookies taste ok, but it took me an HOUR to scrape off all the cookies inside the oven, and to get all the dried on cookie off the baking sheet. This is definitely a recipe that I will not make again!

OMG!!!! Sooooo yummy!!!!!!! the first time I ever had these cookies ( not this recipe I was not impressed. But I was willing to give them another chance so after buying some from a school fundraiser I fell in love with them! and had to find a recipe!!! I came across this one and it had so many good reviews I thought I would give it a try...and YUM!!!!! The only thing I do different is add more m&m's and more chocolate chips and leave out the raisins...I did not care for them in this cookie. But I would have to say that these are now one of my favorite!! and have passed the recipe along to several other friends who also love them!!

What a great recipe! So easy and so delicious! I didn't have colored candies, so I used 1/2 cup miniature semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1/2 cup white chocolate chips, and the 1/4 cup raisins, and they are super good. Maybe the note about not overcooking them should be explained; I was patient and let them sit because I've made lots of cookies in the past, but a person without a lot of cookie experience might overcook them.

There was a comment that this is a gluten free recipe.
It has been determinded by several gluten free organizations that regular oatmeal has been contaminated by gluten.

The only sure gluten free oats is "BOB's" which can be bought online or in a health food store. It is not instant and I usually grind it in my food processor when substituting for flour.

Having stated this, and being gluten free I am anxious to try this recipe as it does not have wheat flour. I will return and comment later!!!

I am giving it 4 stars in anticipation!
