There was a comment that this is a gluten free recipe.
It has been determinded by several gluten free organizations that regular oatmeal has been contaminated by gluten.
The only sure gluten free oats is "BOB's" which can be bought online or in a health food store. It is not instant and I usually grind it in my food processor when substituting for flour.
Having stated this, and being gluten free I am anxious to try this recipe as it does not have wheat flour. I will return and comment later!!!
I am giving it 4 stars in anticipation!

I love this recipe.. My Kids think it is the best cookie I have made so far. I changed the recipe a little. I added sweetend coconut and walnuts to the chips and candies. Love It

These are really good! I used 1 tsp of vanilla instead of 1/2 and substituted cranberries for raisins. I also used 1/2 cup of semisweet chocolate chips and 1/2 cup of milk chocolate chips and didn't use the candies. Definitely use the parchment paper. If you try to remove them before they're fully cooled they will fall apart. Otherwise, they came out fine and are really good.

I have a ton of food allergies and this is a great cookie recipe. I usually make this recipe when I have a cookie craving, so alterations to the recipe are only because I use what I have on hand. I have made this recipe a ton of times with the following alterations ... ALL which have made some changes in the outcome, but still YUMMY every time.
I have used regular oats,it absorbs more moisture than instant oats and the cookies end up more chewy. I have also used chunky instead of smooth PB with a more crunchy outcome (shocking, I know!. I also just throw in extras ... sometimes milk chocolate, dark chocolate, white chocolate, nuts, crasins ... (you get the picture.
I just made these cookies because I HAD to have a cookie, as I am making christmas cookies for my yearly cookie platter. All cookies that I can't eat and are very pretty.

I love these cookies! They're so easy to make and they're always a big hit! It's also nice to make for people who have gluten allergies too.

I made these for a family reunion. I set them on the dinner table and they were all gone before the meal was put on the table! I didn't use all 4 1/2 cups of oatmeal and they turned out perfect and gooey! I would make them again for sure.
