I've made this cookies multiple times, and they've always come out great!

HOWEVER, I made them today, and for the first time ever, they came out flat as a pancake. In the past, I have always mixed them by hand b/c I thought the chunky ingredients might be a little too much for my stand mixer. On a whim today, I decided to try the stand mixer. It did fine, but my cookies aren't!

Soooo, for the people who've had issues with the cookies coming out flat, I've figured out your problem-- you are over-mixing them! Forget your mixer for this batch, mix by hand, and enjoy perfect cookies.

Monster cookies were a huge hit at my house!! I doubled the recipe & added chocolate chips & mini chocolate chips & 3 c. m&m's. I didnt soften my butter and I used 3 c peanut butter which is only 1 1/2c if not doubling. If you add to much p. butter thhis will make your cookies spread. My cookies didnt spread at all. Very good recipe.

Good cookies. I would add more oats and raisins next time. Parchment paper is a must not an option ; otherwise they would stick to your pan. Like other reviewers i have to agree that they can be a little mushy. Two problems with that are always leave your butter out to soften( don't microwave and don't use to much dough( just a leveled out cookie scoop full. Even with that i still think a little bit more oats would be good.

I've made them at home and for work. They are always a hit. I've had to start making 2 batches at a time because 1 batch won't last in the house! Sometimes I mix it up by adding mini m&ms and add extra chocolate chips.

Delicious! I used old fashioned oats instead of quick cooking, left out the raisins and added chopped pecans. I had to cook a minute longer but they were yummy and were gobbled up. Will make these again, maybe add coconut.

My fiancé had these the other day at work and begged me to make them for him. I was worried about other reviews saying these spread out too much, but like a previous reviewer I'm guessing it was failing to see that a jar of PB is 16 oz and the recipe only calls for 12. I added a tad extra chocolate chips since I didn't do raisins and used dark brown sugar. I actually was able to roll the cookies into uniform balls before baking. Baked for 9 minutes and let them cool completely on the pan. I didnt use parchment paper and these came off super easy. Cookies turned out perfectly chewy in the center and crispy on the edges. Wonderful!

I made these cookies for the first time today and they turned out great! And my 3 and 6 year old loved them!
I was worried at first reading all the comments about them being flat but I have to say those people did not follow the recipe correctly because mine look exactly like the picture.
The smallest jar of peanut butter is 16 oz not 12 so when adding the peanut butter make sure you check the ounces. Also I added 1 cup of raisens, chocolate chips and m&ms. I put the batter in the fridge for about an hour to stiffen a little before baking.
I definitely plan on making these again! I love that oatmeal and raisins are in them, next time I'm adding nuts as well.

These cookies didn't turn out...baking for 10 min left me with a gooey mess and I followed the recipe exactly and didn't over soften butter. I added time and they looked good but as soon as I set down the pan they spread out like saucers. Disappointed with this recipe.
