Very Good, Directions out of Order? Baked longer.
These cookies pleased my 4 and 7 yr old children as well as Mom and Dad. I have made them 2 times so far. I followed the directions exactly the first time but on my 2nd baking I changed the order of the additions to facilitate easier mixing. For example:
Creamed sugars and butter, then added eggs 1 at a time and mixed well. Added salt, baking soda and vanilla. Mix well. Then Peanut Butter mixed well. Followed by Oatmeal 1 C at a time. Last, the raisins, chocolate chips, and candies. Also liked them a little more well done. Baked at 360 for 12 min.

I really wanted to make monster cookies for my 1 year old and honestly have had the best luck with the Food Network. I also love Paula and Alton, so I use their recipes for most of anything. I saw that people were having troubles with an overwhelming peanut butter taste, and flatness problem- so I saved myself some time and added only half a jar of peanut butter (why I think m&m's don't stick, it's so greasy, so that took care of that. and added 1/2 cup of flour. The cookies are fluffy, but stay together, and aren't flat. They taste amazing! My 1 year old can't stop eating them, I gave some to the people that work across the street and they loved them, and I'll bet my husband loves them as well. Good recipe, just needs some very minor tweeks.

This is the BEST recipe!!!! I started making this recipe several years ago and my son BEGS me to make them every year for Christmas for his classmates. He promises his friends every year that his mom will make her famous MONSTER COOKIES for them and is very proud of this gift to others. I saw Paula make these cookies on one of her shows and she stated they are her husbands favorite cookie...Now they are my sons and the facility at my childrens school. I also have teased my co-workers that when I grow up, I want to be the next "Paula Deen". I now think about what her sons have documented stating they took thier teachers home made treats made by their Momma, they were so proud, since they did have a lot of money. Well Paula now I know that is how my son feels and it makes a Momma proud!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving me the same pleasure!!!

    For you others, please ENJOY!!!!

After I announced to the kids we would make these, I realized I was missing some ingredients. Substituted some Nutella for part of the peanut butter and used trail mix with almonds and peanuts for the chocolate, raisins and m&m's. Still turned out great. I had some trouble with different kinds of pans and these cookies turned out best on the dark, non-stick pan. A little crumbly on the traditional pan.

I love peanut butter cookies, but these were flat and too much peanut butter . I added flour to the mix, It helped, but I will not make them again.

WE LOVE THESE COOKIES, THEY HAVE SUCH A GOOD FLAVOR. I USED JIF EXTRA CRUNCHY PEANUT BUTTER, ONE CUP CHOCOLATE CHIPS, ONE CUP M&M'S, 3/4 CUP WALNUTS, AND ABOUT 3/4 CUP OF RAISINS. THEY TURNED OUT PERFECT!!! I ONCE USED SALTED BUTTER IN A RECIPE AND IT DIDN'T TURN OUT. I NOW ONLY USE UNSALTED WHEN BAKING. JUST WONDER IF MAYBE THOSE OF YOU WHO HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE COOKIES HOLDING UP USED SALTED BUTTER? JUST A THOUGHT.
