I thought the stuffing was kind of dry and it definitely needed more sauce. It doesn't take as long to make if you have your family help you stuff! Everyone loved it except me, maybe it was too much work for what you get.

Per other reviewers, I did add some oregano, garlic and basil. However, unlike ALL other recipes I tried from Paula, this one was missing something. It was good, but there was no wow factor. Maybe I'll try ricotta instead of cream cheese next time. And also.. this makes sooooo much! I halved the recipe using 1.5 pounds of ground beef and there was still a ton left.

I made this recipe years ago for a progressive dinner. I still get requests from friends to make it for special occasions. It is wonderful.

My boyfriend and I love this. Not the quickest meal to prepare, but I still make it on week nights and it works out fine. That being said I do make changes. I use 2 pounds of beef instead of 3 because that is just way to much. I would need more shells and an extra pan to use that much. I also use fresh spinach because I don't like the frozen, but that is just a preference. Other than that I will continue to make this. Thanks much Paula! This would be great if you have a lot of guests or you need a meal for those week day lunches.

Even though my family loved it, I felt that it lacked a little flavor.I would use a romano or other strong flavor than parmesan and also garlic next time. I will make it again with those changes.

My fiance was an officer in the army and this was my go to dish when we had dinner parties. EVERYONE loved it and always asked for the recipe. Thanks Paula for making me popular among the officer's wives!

6-8 servings for people of what species?! I had enough filling to stuff two pans worth of pasta. (I used lasagna noodles cut in half and rolled the filling up in them. I should have been suspicious about the 3 pounds of ground beef, but I thought it would cook down more.

Was tasty, though. I'm obviously going to freeze the second pan.

This was delicious! I made it with fresh spinach instead of frozen and cut the recipe down since it was so large. I used ricotta and mozzarella cheese instead of cream cheese. Everyone in my house loved it! I will definitely make this one again!

This is one of my favorite dishes! I love to make this and I love to eat it! Everyone I have made it for absolutely loves it!! I do add a lot of garlic to the meat, and I use about 4 or 5 cups of sauce, and some times I use ricotta instead of cream cheese.. both ways are delicious!
