This pudding is awesome and so easy to make. Sometimes I find "seasonal" Chessman cookies i.e. Xmas & Easter! You can't go wrong!!!!!!!!!!
This is one of my all time favorite recipes. My fiancé does not like bananas in his pudding so I leave them out and everyone still loves it. I usually just slice me up a banana and put on top of my servings I eat. It is a very simple and delicious recipe.
    Amazing!!! Always a winner....
Awesome dessert -everyone loves it! It disappears too quickly though. Even people who say they don't like banana pudding seem to love it. Easy to make - must refrigerate overnight though.
Going to make this for a potluck at work. It is better to make the night before so it can sit or do you recommend make it the day of? I don't want the cookies to be all mushy. Any thoughts?
I made this last week and it was just as good the next day and even the day after that. Save yourself some trouble and make it the night before. If you want the cookies on top to be super-fresh, you could always just add that layer in the morning.
It was awesome and easy ant the Chessman Cookies looked really cute
This is fantastic but next time I will just use the Nila Wafers. Thank you so much for the recipe!!
This recipe was oh so good and so easy to make. I was hesitant at first to make it because of the reviews that said it was too sweet -- my husband does not do too sweet. However, he was declaring how good it was before he even had a full piece -- he scraped the pudding bowl clean. My sister (a true size 0), who watches her sweet intake, not only ate a large piece but did something she never does -- took a very large piece home with her. The recipe says it yields 12 servings, it yields much more than that (unless you eat extremely large servings). I served 9 people and we had more than half the pan left. Although everyone loved the use of the Chessman cookies, I think next time I'll try vanilla wafers just to see the difference.
I've been making the recipe for years and it always gets rave reviews. I prefer the mini nilla wafers to the chessman cookies because the are easier to eat. I've also changed it up and used chocolate pudding with mini oroes or nutter butters, Just before serving I add a fresh layer of cookies and bananas to the top.
I've been making this for about 5 years now. It tastes like a banana cream pie, but maybe even better. You really can't go wrong here
My granddaughters and grandson teamed up to make this tasty, satisfying pudding. One of your best!!!!!
Best banana pudding I've ever put in my mouth!
This is an absolute show stopper. I have made this for countless parties and family gatherings and it always gets the same response. Awesome!! The difference in this recipe and the normal banana cream recipes is the Chessman cookies. They are buttery vs. vanilla and that 's what makes it special. People call me all the time for this is truly delicious.
Excellent! Like HEAVEN in your mouth!
OMG the best I have ever tasted! I can't believe someone would compare this to store-bought. Desserts are sweet, so if too sweet, eat a smaller portion. Look at the ingredients...Hello, very rich, but awesomely delicious!
I guess I expected an amazing banana pudding but I was highly disappointed. Too much filling, too sweet, not much better than a store bought banana pudding in my opinion. I much prefer the Nilla wafer recipe to this.
I love, love, love this. I had it 3 times at work and made it Christmas. Everyone loved it!!!
OH MY! This is divine! Thanks Paula!
Best pudding ever! I soaked the bananas in lemon juice to combat browning. I added them in the pudding and in the layers along with pineapples i layered 3 times on last layer I covered the cookies with pudding pineapples and strawberries. Pure bliss! Wow Paula Dean you never fail me!
Wonderful banana pudding. I was leery of changing from vanilla wafers to the chessman cookies with my picky bunch but they loved it!! I didn't use all the Eagle Brand milk and I used vanilla and banana cream pudding and used heavy whipping cream instead of the frozen stuff. I almost made myself sick and my husband requested I get it out of the house before he gets sick LOL This is a keeper!! My son who I've never been able to get to try banana pudding had the pan and a spoon and finished the last of it!
A coworker made this for our christmas luncheon yesterday, it was amazing, i plan on making my own for my family christmas next surprised at how easy it sounds, it was fluffy, light, and amazing...and this is coming from a banana pudding expert!! thing i might do differently is have some bananas in the mix and not just layered on the cookies, but thats just me!
I love this recipe and i love the woman who made it! thanks mama paula
The whole family loved it! Thanks Paula for another great recipe!!!
Fabulous! Did you save your BoxTops for education?

I hope you enjoy it as much as We do. the only suggestion would be to add more cookies.
