I have made this at least 6 times. It is wonderful. The only change I make is to add freshly grated nutmeg. It is delicious! I also used crushed peacan sandies instead of the chessman cookies once, which was a nice alternative.

This is the banana pudding recipe you have been looking for. The presentation makes you want to dig into it. But the flavor and texture combination is truly perfection. I recommend you make this the day before or at least several hours ahead of time, to give the cookies time to soften just a tad. That extra time makes all the difference and really makes the dessert come together nicely.
