The best sweet potatoes I have had. My husband asks for them every Holiday. They look and smell as good as they taste and they are so easy to make.

Ihave used this recipe on many occasions
and even cooked over 10 lbs. by
    increasing the recipe, particularly
the bourbon. Church socials are especially fun because everyone trys
to figure out the unique taste.

I decreased the water to 1 cup and increased the bourbon to 1 cup to make the sauce thicker.
The casserole dish was empty after our office Christmas luncheon. Everyone said the flavor was great!

I'm a vegetarian and made a huge spread for a cozy Thanksgiving dinner. These yams were absolutely the best thing on the table and, as my dinner guest described them, were the "star" of the dinner. Following the advice of the other reviewers, I reduced the amount of water by about 1 cup (but increased the Jack by about 1/4 cup. I already have another batch of yams waiting to be bathed in Jack! Thanks Paula!

This will be the third year I will make this dish. It has replaced the over popular mashed sweet potatoes with marshmallow topping on our family. I think it is the favorite of my now 85 year old grandfather and I will make them for him whenever he asks....Thanks for the recipe Paula!
