    Great pie, but..

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
I made this pie with it ending up being too small. If you use 1 1/2 times the ingredients called for the pie is great. It... is a bigger pie and more filling. You do have to cook it a little longer, but it is fabulous. Read more

Thanks!! so much Paula for sharing your wonder recipe of the "Old Fashioned Fudge Pie! I had Christmas Dinner at our home and... I did the deserts. I made you Old Fashion Fudge Pie AND you Pumpkin Cheesecake "using fresh pumpkin" Well! The Fudge Pie Won!!! And here I thought that the Pumpkin Cheesecake would. Not to say the cheesecake wasn't yummy because OH IT WAS! But and asked everyone which they liked the best and the Fudge pie did win! I also made you Mashed potatoes with the bacon and cheese with sour cream for the Christmas dinner and my husband went nut over them....So Paula Thanks and Have a Very Nice New Years. Thanks Josie P.S. I have a ? Can I possibly double the batch and if so how long cooking time....or will it overflow in the oven, I would like to get it to the top of the crust. Thanks again JosieRead more

    My new favorite pie!!!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
Paula, Paula, PAULA!!! I was sitting there, watching the show. You started making your Old Fashioned Fudge Pie. I kept... waiting for the hard part, there wasn't one. THEN I thought.."I have all that stuff!" I immediately went to the kitchen and made the pie from memory. You demonstrated every step, so I just did them as you had shown them. I always have chocolate chips in my freezer and during the Holidays I almost always have a frozen pie crust or two, eggs, sugar and butter...who doesn't have those? Twenty-five minutes later I pulled the pie out of the oven. We had to set a timer so everyone would wait until it cooled!!!! It was AWESOME. When one is gone I need to make another, but it isn't a big deal because it's so easy! I took one to my sister's home for the family gathering Christmas Eve. My brother-in-law took a piece and went to his chair. After his first bite he went to the kitchen and hid what was left of it for himself and asked me to give my sister the recipe. When I recited it for her she was certain that I had left out a few ingredients and steps. She couldn't believe how easy it was! I had a house full on Christmas Day. When it became clear that these folks had settled in for a long visit, I got up for a few minutes, whipped up a pie and enjoyed their company for the 25 minutes it took to cook, 30 minutes later I served it with a dollop of fresh cream and I was a hero!!! Thank you so much! This recipe is going to be a family favorite for years to come.Read more

    Really rich fudge pie

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
This was extremely easy to make and very delicious. My only concern was when the pie was baking it began to souffle! I... thought maybe I had over beaten the filling. After cooling the pie had collapsed and was fine. Unsweetened chocolate is an option too as well as adding toffee to the filling before baking. It came out wonderful. Read more
