My four children were born in the late 50's and meatloaf was one of ou staples. I don't know what happened since they all moved away, but my meatloaf skills went down the tubes. I found this meatloaf tasty and super easy. I really liked it only calls for 1 lb. of meat. Next time I make it I my jazz it up a little with spices, but this a good beginners recipe.

I made a couple simple modifications to the recipe - i used bread crumbs in lieu of the oats, and cooked it at 350 in my electric oven for a little over an hour before adding the sauce on the top. It turned out fabulous! Great for leftovers, sandwiches - it was a complete hit and a nice change from the same ol' drab meatloaf!

First, I LOVE your show Paula!!! My husband is the pickest person I've ever had to feed. He is on the road five days a week, so when he is home I try to make something special for him. He helped me make this recipe and it was so easy to make that we doubled it. My husband fliped over this meat loaf and thought it was the best he has ever had in his life!!! He had me freeze the other half so he can have it again on his next days off. THANK YOU!!!
