This was my first time making from scratch meat loaf and mine did not turn out so well. I am not really sure why but it didn't "loaf" it was very mushy and clumpy and I cooked it for 1 hour and 5 minutes. Not sure if I will try this one again but I am open to suggestions on how to make it more "loafy."
Update: I did try this recipe a second time last night following some of the tips of the reviews. Like I used bread crumbs instead of oats I drained the tomatoes and I still got a liquid mess. There was no solid mold to it. Maybe it is something that I am doing, I just know I wont make it a third time!

This is by far the best meatloaf I have ever had! I've told several people about it, and everyone who has made it once, has made it again. Even for those who don't like meatloaf, give it a shot. My Mom and Sister both hate meatloaf, and her kids aren't fond of them either. Everyone loved this! When it's mentioned I'm making it, they go nuts! It's THAT good!

Loved it...tweeked it just a bit..instead of oats used plain bread crumbs, and I also added 1 teasopoon of allspice, which I read in another recipe. (I found it interesting The loaf came out moist and tasty..mm mmm good. Love you Paula!

great recipe! ive made it three times in the past two weeks, not kidding! i did a few adjustments including using ground turkey instead of beef, italian bread crumbs instead of quick cook oats and regular sugar instead of brown. so SO good. rave reviews from everyone thats tried it. SO easy to make too! I serve it with mashed potatoes and a green vegetable.

This was my first meatloaf and I was so worried that it wouldn't come out right but it it was sooo good. The only things I changed was i added alittle worchestire to the topping and I used tomatoe sauce instead of diced tomatoes. I will definitley be making this again and again..
