    MY husband said this was the best pie he ever tasted. I did not do the merinque right- or as well as I should but overall it was wonderful

    This recipe's is so easy to prepare and so good, for I have substitute the sugar with splenda for I am a diabetic and no one knew the difference..

    i substituted with a yellow sweet potato and omitted the ginger for half of a fresh squeezed lemon, used part brown sugar to white sugar, and added only the egg yolks and reserved the whites for whipping and then I carefully folded them in to give the pie a light texture. It came out great!!!!!!! Thanks Paula...

    I received great responses from those that sampled my pie this past Thanksgiving. One thing that I will try the next time I bake the pie will be to put the crusts in the oven by themselves for a little while before filling them with the sweet potato mixture. I used a deep dish pie crust and it took the pie longer to bake. This was only my second attempt baking a sweet potato pie. Overall, I would give myself and the pie a 4.
