I made this pie from home grown sweet potatoes that I baked in the oven(as Paula advised. This was one of the best sweet potato pies I have ever eaten. I will cut back on the butter just a little next time, but it was sooooo good as the recipe goes. Didn't even need a topping!

This pie is delicious! My brother-in-law, who does not eat sweet potatoes, called after tasting mine and asked me to make another pie...just for him! I sent one over to his family and he was full of compliments. He's not the only one who begged for a pie - my friend was the one who told me that she had tasted the best sweet potato pie ever while at a job function. She told me that it was a Paula Deen recipe. I knew that it would be great! I looked the recipe up on-line and made two pies within days of her letting me know. Do you know that girl came over to my house to get two slices! I must make this again on my birthday, Thanksgiving and Christmas! You're going to love it!

My brother brought this for a picnic. It was an excellent pie. He did err and add double the butter (thought it read 1/2 c when it said 1/2 stick. Didn't hurt the equation. The pie was excellent. He used vanilla in lieu of bourbon.

This pie was easy, granted i was a bit unsure when i went to the local grocery store and couldn't find "Sweet Potatoes". Luckily the store manager was around and let me know they called them "Yams". I suggest going to the health food store though for the crust. I got a Whole Wheat crust which was Delicous with this pie. I may even use it as my base for Candied yams...

Not on my sweet potato pie thanks! The pie itself is great but a good sweet potato pie really doesn't need topping but if you must, it should be whipped cream.

with putting the carrots in the soup will make the shrimps more sweeter and delicious. and the potatoes will make it seem like a clam chowder creamy and wholesome.
