Paula -- you are the Queen of comfort food! This is the best beef stew I have had in many a year. I recommend serving it over broad noodles -- the comfort food fans in the family clamored for more, and it freezes very well for a quick but delicious meal during the work week upon defrosting.

The stew was very delicious, but I had to add a little more salt and pepper because it wasnt seasoned enough for my taste. But all in all a great recipie!!

Wonderful easy to prepare dish. My husband and I both thorougly enjoyed. It was even better the second day served over egg noodles. I added a few frozen peas and fresh potatoes to it - absolutely the best stew ever!! Thanks Paula!!

Made with the potato casserle, this meal is sure to be one that your family requests all the time, even in the summer! I added corn and a can of dice sweet tomatoes with onion to my stew. I left out the celery as no one in my family likes it and it was gone in one sitting. It's easy and the only thing I can think of to make this better is to make a homeade biscuit and put it right there with the potatos and stew.

I liked the taste but it was very old style which means really no flavor!! But if you like plan then it was good!! I like my grandmas stew better!!

Very good. The meat was tender and the vegetables had an excellent flavor. I did, however, add cut-up potatoes to the pot along with the carrots and celery.
