This is just a super easy comfort food recipe. It's not fancy but it is super tasty and I love the simplicity. Get the beef and you'll probably find you have everything in the fridge and pantry to make a hearty pot of stew. I do add red wine (doesn't red wine make everything just a little better? and some potatoes to stretch the recipe (it's always better the second day after the flavors have a chance to meld. If it's cold and you want comfort food, look no further. Hats off, Paula!

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! I used one pound of beef, cayenne in place of the paprika I didn't have on hand, 3 minced garlic cloves and left them in. I also added some fresh sage for fun. It was was perfect, I will make this over and over again. Thanks Paula!

Loved this recipe! Great flavor. I added a few extras.. Red potatoes, 2 extra cloves of garlic, 2 cups of beef broth in addition to the water and a dash more black pepper. Huge hit!

Such a great dish. I thought mine would turn out tough since I used extra lean beef but it was tender and delicious! My Greek husband said it reminded him of home. I used red wine as well as the water and I didn't use the cornstarch. Thank you Paula!

I made this last night. I doubled the recipe and added more liquid - 4 cups of low sodium beef broth and 2 cups of water. I also added some potatoes & made a cornstarch slurry to thicken it. I used lean stew beef and it was not very tender, but that is probably my own error. I was expecting something similar to my mom's beef stew, and this wasn't it, but that doesn't mean that it was bad! I may want to try some improvements based on some of the reviews here.
