I love chocolate fudge, so a recipe with Paula's name on it, I'm gonna try. I used Dutch-Processed cocoa and love the aftertaste, but overall, this fudge is just too sweet. I can only eat a half-inch size piece at a time, and trust me - I LOVE sweets!

This fudge is wonderful and easy to make if you do it right. It does seem like the recipe lost quite a few step when it was put on the web site. Thanks to the reviewer who wrote that need to know info, my fudge turned out smooth and yummy. Oh, I substituted honey for the corn syrup because it was what I had.

The cooks who did not like this fudge dont know how to cook candy; first, test you thermometer in boiling water; if is accurate it will show 212 degrees.Butter the sides of your pan before starting; this will keep sugar crystals from making a chain reation; when the candy begins to boil LEAVE IT ALONE AND DONT STIR IT. When it's at the soft ball stage, remove it from the heat and add the butter and vanilla and DON'T STIR IT. When cooled down then beat it until the gloss begins to subside. Paula's fudge is really good; you just have to know how to cook candy.

I agree with most of the reviews on this fudge. It's more like a gooey chocolate slurpee. When I was making this, I kept thinking that there was too much liquid for this recipe, and really nothing to make it harden. I tho't about adding some oats to the mixture after i put it in my mixer, but i didn't do it. It's been in the refrigerator all night, and when i got it out this morning, it was sticky, and what few pieces my husband finally got out, started melting right there and then. I was disgusted and wanted to throw the thing away. My advice is to keep looking for a better fudge, I know I will.

I tried to make this fudge 3 times and it never got firm someone suggested I use condensed milk instead of evaporated milk. I havent tried and I havent watched Paula again either she made it look so easy then gave out a crappy recipe

I prefer a firm, creamy fudge. This was not. I used a candy thermometer too. It had a taste I didn't care for either.
