This is a creamy....melt-in-your-mouth type of fudge....and it was so easy to make. Another great desert or treat for my recipe box.

This is the same recipe my mother made and taught me to make as a young girl. It has always turned out great for me. If this fudge is cooked to the right stage, it will thicken quickly when beating -- just like the recipe cautions. I use a large cast iron skillet and beat the fudge by hand.

Thanks so much for this great recipe. It is just like the fudge my mom used to make. I have never made fudge before and I tried this recipe after seeing the show. It came out perfect. It is delicious and very creamy. I didn't have any problems with the consistency. It set up just fine and everyone in my family loved it.

THis is the only recipe of Paula's that I did not care for. I really didn't care that much for the flavor, and it was like chocolate taffy.

I used a candy thermometer, so I don't think that was the problem. And there was no humidity the day I made it, so I don't think that's it either. Perhaps I did not beat the fudge long enough with the beaters, but even so, the flavor wasn't that great.

Next time, I will use the recipe on the marshmallow creme jar.
