I love telling people that I'm making orange brownies. They think they're chocolate with orange flavor but are so surprised.
Most importantly emphasize to anyone that you give this recipe to that it MUAT be made with FRESHLY GRATED ORANGE ZEST AND REAL BUTTER, NOT MARGARINE. A friend used bottled zest and margarine and they tasted like FLOUR SQUARES. . .yuck ! ! !

These brownies didn't wow me but thew wowed my family. They love them and would like for me to make more, they are sweet and they are gooey, not to hard they are just right.

This was my first time to make these, but not to enjoy them. My husband loves them. I find them to be more like a lemon bar in consistency than a brownie. I followed the recipe exactly and the bars were gooey, yet they stood on their own when cut into small squares. A small piece will easily satisfy as they are a very sweet treat.

This recipe is so good. I had never tried an orange cake. I highly recommend it. Per suggestions, I added less sugar, 3 eggs and didn't use orange extract. It came out so delicious, with a natural orange flavor.

I fixed these yesterday but used a glaze on second posting of Paula's recipe instead of cream cheese frosting--which I liked, by the way. My only comment
would be that 'Orange Bars' would be a more accurate description of the final product. We thought they were identical to lemon bars--just the orange version.
If you're expecting a 'brownie'--you'll be disappointed; and, if you notice, the recipe doesn't contain any baking powder or soda.

This is so delicious. I made a few changes as others suggested. I added 1C flour , 1 1/2C sugar, and 3 eggs instead of four. Every thing came out terrific. Thanks Paula.

This is one of my families favorite desserts. I take it to brunches, pot lucks, dinner parties, school functions and everyone just flips over it. It is so refreshing a light and has a fantastic favor. Thanks for this wonderful treat. It will be used forever.

I made these for Easter Sunday and they were a HUGH hit with all of my guests. The recipe was very easy to follow and the brownies were so moist. I made a small change in recipe though. After reading several of the reviews that expressed it was very sweet (some say too sweet I opted with 1 and half cups of sugar instead of 2. Was perfect!!! Would make them again anytime. Thanks Paula for a hit!

These are the best non-chocolate brownies ever!!! Moist and very "orangie". Will definately make over and over again!!!
