These are fantastic. I followed the recipe exactly and they came out perfectly. When Paula made these on her show, she said that she doubled the recipe for the glaze because she likes heavy icing. I did the same and don't think I would have been happy with less glaze. Make sure you use real orange zest - don't use dried orange peel as a substitute because you just won't get the same flavor. I also used fresh squeezed orange juice. If you buy 1 large navel orange, you can get enough juice and zest to make this recipe (even if you double the glaze. These brownies are a nice change of pace from the usual chocolate brownie. Orange is not a very common dessert ingredient, so this is a guaranteed pleasant surprise for your friends and family.

This is one of the best desserts I have ever eaten! I made them to bring into work tommorrow, and I'm afraid there wont be any left to take in. I want to eat them all. So easy to make too. I will be making these often!!

I just made this recipe. I followed the advise for a chewier brownie from other reviewers adding 3 eggs and 1 cup of flour also 1 3/4 cup of sugar. Even this way the brownies where very very sweet and I hadn't put the glaze on.They taste more like cake than brownies but they are pretty good.I still added the glaze and I am now waiting for them to cool, and I think I will put them in the fridge. Anything to cut back the sweetness a little.BTW I didn't have any orange extract so I used a little o.j. and the zest. It still gave it an orange flavor but maybe not as much as adding the extract would have.

I decided that I would love to have a orange chocolate brownie--a cake-like version of the foil wrapped chocolate orange I put in the kids' stockings every year. I added 3-4 tablespoons cocoa to the mix and they turned out incredible. I know a lot of reviewers say they like this recipe because it's a switch from chocolate brownies, but I like it even better with both the chocolate AND the orange! It's my new favorite!

My husband loves it. It is actually the first time I'm able to do a brownie and impress my husband. Thanks Paula.

This was an outstanding "orangie"! My son and his girlfriend made Paula's recipe which EVERYONE loved! To those who rated it low: DUH, it's a dessert!!!! It is supposed to be rich! Follow the directions EXACTLY and it WILL be the texture of a brownie. I just don't get some of the negative reviews. In many cases, it sounds as if the negative folks did NOT even make the recipe!!! For those considering this recipe--if you like brownie texture, orange flavoring, and cream cheese--this is DEFINITELY the perfect recipe! Hooray for Paula Deen!
