First a quick note to the reviewers who complained about having wasted ingedients on a recipe they'll never try again. Has it ever occured to you before trying a recipe you've never tasted or even smelled to make a SMALL test to see if it's what you really want or expect? Folowing my own advice Paula, I made a half batch and was I glad!! It tasted GREAT!! If I had made the full recipe I'm afraid we would have eaten it all in one setting(there were only 2 of us. I was pleasantly surprised by the lemon zest in the batter and did not find it overpowering at all. It's a great recipe. I look forward to trying it with different fruits. Also to my fellow junior alchemists...just because the recipe didn't work for you the first time think about what went wrong and attempt a twink on the recipe, run a small test batch till you get the taste you're looking for

I read all the reviews before I attempted to prepare this recipe. They were interesting but not helpful. #1 Every oven temp is different....so look at your dish and determine after 20 or 25 minutes if you need to bake it longer. I baked mine for 33 minutes and it was beautiful. #2 Also, saute the apples with the spice and butter till they are very hot and your pan will be very hot for the preheated oven. #3 Serve over Granola, Bran Cereal and top with Fat Free Sour Cream to which some splenda has been added. It's delicious. YUM!!!!!

It would seem as if there is a mistake in this recipe--I am very disappointed your website published this recipe as it is. The "batter" is mostly egg like--nothing at all like a pancake. I made this recipe for dinner last night--just for two and it was just horrible. It is basically a tough egg-like substance over pie filling--yuck. I read the reviews too late--one reviewer describes how to actually make the egg mixture into a batter.

I may this recipe last night and we had to throw it away. The topping was like a hard sponge. It was unedible. I thought maybe the recipe was wrong so I came online this morning to see if maybe it had been updated but it hadn't. I think the problem is too many eggs but don't want to ruin another 2 cans of pie filling to try it. Did anyone else have the same problem?

I agree, use a boxed mix. But it is delicious, and a great no-stress way to make pancakes for a group of guests.

I was expecting more of a lighter, pancake texture but it came out like fried eggs over apples. I would not make it again.

Great idea for eating pancakes! I did not care for how the pancake texture came out, though. I prefer the pancake have to be fluffy and airy.

These didn't turn out when my fiance and i made them. It took way longer than 25 minutes and the pancake had no flavor. We didn't care for it at all.

I thought this to be one of the easiest recipes I have found in a long time and I dearly love Paula Deen... She is the best.... I watch her every time she is on and those lovely young men of hers to.I can't leave out that wonderful husband of Paula's either....They are so sweet! Thanks for the good food shows and cooks.
