This is the most succulent dressing I have tasted.

This is a great oyster dressing recipe. I have made it according to the directions and have also made it using store bought cornbread and bread cubes. Turned out great both ways. I did leave the liquid from the oysters and didn't use all the stock called for as we like our dressing on the drier side. Make this every holiday!

After watching the show, I couldn't wait to try it, but after making it, we just couldn't get excited about it. Coming from New Orleans, it was too bland for our taste. Hope others enjoyed it, though!

This was a great recipe, and I really wouldn't rate it as "easy", as it takes alot of time to make your own cornbread, cool it and crumble it, grind crackers, dry bread and crumble it, and saute vegies. Is this why society invented dressing "mix"?
Anyhoo, after much prep, foolowing directions to a "T", I found the flavor bland for the amount of production involved.
Leftovers recieved white pepper, garlic powder, salt, and red pepper flakes.
    MUCH BETTER!
Let's face it, if you are brave enuf to eat oysters, you want some spice and flavor too!

My grandmother lois made oyster dressing every year when I was coming up and I was too young to appreciate it at the time. I am glad I have a recipe now that can bring back that wonderful flavor and let me appreciate that delicious tradition now that I am older! what a fantastic addition to our christmas meal!

I was very impressed with the ease of this recipe. I enjoyed it very much. The only thing is I did substitute my own skillet cornbread recipe for hers. Also, we added the liquid from the oysters to the dish. It was very wet in the oven but puffed up deliciously well. Give it a try!

This recipe was a huge hit at Thanksgiving. As a native Savannahian, I highly recommend it.

My mom made oyster dressing when I was young and when I saw this on your show, I had to try it! It brought back great memories of wonderful family Christmas gatherings shared with my parents and 7 sisters & brothers! A great find! Happy Holidays to All!
