These balls are a little bite of Heaven. I took the liberty of altering the recipe a bit -- typically I increase the butter up to four or five sticks and don't bother with the cream cheese (I am trying to eat healthier. When they're done, I drip melted butter over the top as well -- I find it tastes better this way. These are also good for every occassion: My son's soccer team loves these for after-game meals, they were the big "snack rave" at my mother's funeral, and my dog can eat seven of these in one sitting. These are great for "on-the-go" when you don't have time to prepare other meals during the week, so my family tends to enjoy these 3-4 nights/week for dinner. 5-stars, highly recommended.

You people are idiots. This is not a snack food it's a condiment. These are fantastic on baked potatoes!! Also good on steak, noodles, rice, eggs and toast. They are fun to make and are not ment to be eaten on a daily basis.

@ neverturstmen_5983850 Deep Fried Butter is not a new concept. It has been kicking around carnivals and fairs for a few years now. Just like deep fried oreos, twinkies, snickers bar etc etc etc the balls of butter are dipped in funnel cake batter and tossed in the fryer for a few minutes. Some places even serve them with chocolate and fruit dipping sauces. When in Rome right?!? And we all know how much Paula loves butter so it is only natural she would put her own spin on it. It has nothing to do with Southern Folk at all. Please take your base assumptions and rude comments somewhere else.

butter is choc-full of saturated fats and cholesterol. i have tasted these before, not so much willingly, and i was horrified. after digestion i felt sluggish and bloated, and so did the others who ate these, and happened to enjoy them. if you body is telling you something, LISTEN. listen to more than just your senses, which can be easily influenced (for example, fast food restaurants buying manufactured smells from factories and adding them to their burgers to get the sensation of a pleasant olfactory experience aka TRICKING the senses.
if you happen to not be fat, thank your genes. IT DOESNT MEAN YOU ARE HEALTHY! good god...only in america. fried butter?! REALLY?
