I've been making this for years without the honey. Also delicious with a touch of cream cheese in there. If you're feeling really adventurous try with a strip or 2 of bacon. O.M.G. :

I thought this was delicious...and I'm not a sweets person but wow. I made this for my son and i almost wanted to steal it from him. Next time I'll make one for myself.

I really enjoyed this, but I did cut down on some of the butter because I thought it was a little excessive and unnecessary. My husband and I had this for lunch one day, and while it was tasty, it's one of those recipes that I will be making once in a great while. It was such a filling meal and I don't see how anyone could eat more than one sandwich. I was afraid that the cinnamon sugar coating on the bread was going to be too much, but it was delicious. I didn't use chunky peanut butter like the recipe called for, I just used regular. I think chunky peanut butter might be too rich for our tastes.

Haven't tried this yet, but plan to very soon. Sounds wonderful! One concern is the fat and calories. I might use lite bread, and instead of the butter, just spray a skillet with Pam. Also, could decrease the amount of honey in the PB and watch the portions used to make the sandwiches. May be able to limit the damage to my backside and my arteries. But Paula, I DO love you so! Your food is just wonderful and you are so fun to watch. Keep up the great work, girl!

Oh my gosh! This was so good. I grew up on peanut butter and banana sandwiches, and when I saw this I decided to give it a try for lunch. I didn't follow any measurments-just buttered a piece of bread and then put peanut butter on the other side, sliced the bananas over the PB and drizzled honey on it, buttered the other piece of bread and cooked it in the skillet. Then I dipped both sides in the cinnamon/sugar mix-It was SOOOO GOOD! give it a try-don't eat it every day - b/c it's not healthy, but a nice treat occasionally.
