the best oatmeal cookies i've ever made! very tasty but i made some modifications...didn't have enough lt.brown sugar so i mixed in some dk. brown sugar...didn't use the nuts or raisons either. still came out great! i find that cooking them on the lowest rack in the oven helps them to keep their shape. they're moist and delicious but a lot of them crumbled into pieces after trying to remove them from the cookie sheet.

These are so good and easy to make. I love all the spices, and I get to use my mixer. They make great holiday gifts too. I sent some with my son today for his teacher and bus driver. I don't make the icing for them, for me they are perfect without it.

I make these every year around Thanksgiving and Christmas. My family and I LOVE them. I have given them to friends and co-workers as gifts and they all ask if I can make them more. Thanks Paula for a great oatmeal cookie recipe.

I have made these a LOT of times and NEVER had any problems with them being flat or dry. My daughters and I do not personally like Oatmeal Cookies, however, with this recipe, we all love them.
All my friends and family request this cookie for presents at Christmas time and birthdays. Perhaps the other people are over-baking them or their baking soda could be old-er since baking soda does loose its fanaze quickly.
They are the best Oatmeal Cookie EVER ....according to all the Oatmeal Cookie Lovers that I know.
Delicious!

I made a test cookie, after reading the reviews. Followed the recipe to a T this first time around and the cookies came out dry and flat. So I mixed in 1 TBS of Baking Powder, added another 3/4 cup of Flour, and 1/2 cup of Apple Sauce, and for fun 1 cup of Shredded Sweetened Coconut.
They are SOOO tasty, moist and fluffy! YUM. I love most of Paula's recipes but this one just needed a little extra umph.

Selected the recipe because it's one of Paula's and because it is a bit different. Added an additional 1/4C of flour after reading previous reviews. Used the small cookie scoop. They came out great and my husband loves them. Also used dark brown sugar because I like the richer flavor. The cookies were nicely mounded and more cake-like. Next time may only use an extra 1/8 C flour, I don't mind if they are flatter, and make them bigger. Really messed up the icing, so mine are not iced. Will work on that next time. These should ship well.

These were some of the best oatmeal cookies I have ever made. They were all fluffy and moist and delicious. I see some complaining about them coming out flat, but I learned it has a lot to do with not using baking soda. I love this recipe!!

I'm interested in what is causing some to come out with flat, dry cookies. I made these for Christmas and they were absolutely delicious. They were soft and fluffy, and far from flat and dry. I made four different types of cookies and they were my favorite!

This is the THIRD Paula Deen recipe that I have tried and the THIRD that has been a complete flop. I don't think I am ever going to try another Paula Deen recipe!

I made these cookies yesterday and they turned out PERFECT and were a hit at the party I took them to! : I think if you make the cookies a little smaller they won't come out as flat. I didn't listen to the negative reviews on these cookies and I'm glad!!! Will definately make these again!! Happy baking everyone!
