These were lovely- a light, delicate texture and full of flavor. Although I love brown butter in anything, the delicious frosting almost made it a little too sweet for me. The frosting is very sweet, so proceed with caution when drizzling. I added a handful of chocolate chips, thinking it could only make it better, but I would not do that next time as the chocolate seemed to clash with the spice flavors. I also plan on omitting the raising altogether because the fruity raisin flavor didn't seem to compliment the spices (in my humble opinion, anyway. I think a splash of maple syrup in the frosting would be delicious. I'll definitely make these again.

Cookies spread too thin. Flavor not appealing, sometimes simpler is better, just add cinnamon and let it be.

These were great with or without the frosting! Every time I've made them I have gotten nothing but the highest compliments. My only thing is mine tend to be a little crumbly, but that could just be me.

These cookies were waaay over the top for me. My palate went into over drive with all of the spices. I think I just prefer a simple traditional type of cookie. I like the Barefoot Contessa's so I guess I'll stick to her recipe. Just cinnamon is enough for me.

I didn't have all the ingredients for the cookies (or the money to buy them so I just tried the icing on some normal oatmeal cookies I made. It was awesome! I was so afraid it would be too much butter or too much sugar but the mixture is perfect! And it doesn't leave you with a powdered sugar texture like some glazes I've tried in the past do. Can't wait to try out the rest of the recipe soon!

Absolutely fantastic. The brown butter icing is a great little addition to a tasty cookie...gives a whole new meaning to oatmeal cookies as you know them. I used parchment paper (I always do now with any cookies and they came off the sheet just fine. Do let them cool a few minutes on the sheets just to let them set up a bit, as they are a little more delicate than your average oatmeal cookie. I hate to review a recipe when I didn't make it word for word but I believe that in this instance, its ok to do so. I didn't have raisins so I used dried (unsweetened cranberries. Turned out great. Otherwise, I followed all instructions to the "t". I did half the recipe as I didn't need 5 dozen cookies for my get together and it still turned out fantastic. Thank you Paula!
