These are delicious. Very easy and makes a good, hearty cookie. I ran out of time to make the icing but noone seemed to mind.

these babies never made it to my cookie swap. we ate them all before they could even got out of the kitchen. i put chocolate chunks in instead of raisins and omitted the nuts and i swear the flavor in these cookies tastes just like Ben and Jerry's Oatmeal Cookie Chunk Ice Cream. Don't skip the icing. It is definetly "the icing on the cake."

easy to do even for a non-baker. add a little extra flour - you can use egg nog for the buttermilk - tastes great

These were great to pack into a basket as a gift giver and they stayed so chewy and moist. I didn't make the icing b/c I was scared it wouldn't harden properly. But they were great as were and all the spices contributed to a very unique flavor. Wonderful!

I made these cookies to take back to Maryland when I see my family for the holidays. I am afraid I may have to make another batch. We cannot keep our hands out of the cookie tin. They are amazing!! All of the spices flow together beautifully, and the cookie melts in your mouth at first bite! BRAVO Paula...BRAVO!

Paula, these cookies are just like my grandmother use to make me when I was a boy and they were my favorite. We lost her recipe when she passed away several years ago so we will be forever greatful to you. We have three granddaughters, the oldest is six, and they couldn't stop eating them. I think they must take after their PaPa.
Thanks loads, Gene
