Saw Paula making this one yesterday and had to try it last night. My store was out of German Chocolate cake mix- can you believe it? so I used chocolate fudge cake mix, it is 8 oz of cream cheese and I used Almond Joy candy bars - my store didn't have the minitures so I used 4 reg bars. I have to find a new store I think....It was deliciaous and not as sweet as I thought it would be. Maybe because I used the darker chocolate cake but it was great. My husband loved it and so did I. I've got a dinner party next week and I'm making it again....

Haven't made this yet but watched it today. To answer your question Dianna...she used almond joy candy bars. Enjoy!

Okay, I'm going to make this cake for Father's Day. Can anyone tell me what kind of candy bar they used? When she says candy bar with almond, is it the Almond Joy? Just checkin'! Thanks

Made this cake tonight, didn't make the chocolate glaze, (cheated and used a container of ready made chocolate frosting as it was getting late. My kids say this cake looks more like a crater cake when finished, but it is absolutely delicious!!!!! If you love german chocolate you simply have to try it. Thanks Paula and food network for another terrific family recipe!

4x and 10x sugar are powdered sugar. It refers to the coarsesness of the powered sugar, 4x being the coarsest.

In the cream mixture, the recipe called for 1-ounce cream cheese. Is it really "1 0unce" or should it be 1 8-ounce or 1 3-ounce cream cheese?
I can hardly wait to make this cake. I know that it will be sooooo good!!!

I just watched the show and plan to make this cake today, BUT for the cream mixture it should read 1 - 8 ounce package of cream cheese. Can't wait to try it!
